We have tilt in windows also. They need to be cleaned right now but it's suppose to rain tomorrow & next week so I will wait until after that to clean them. The tilt windows makes it so much easier to clean them. I use Invisible Glass or Windex. DH has cleaned them with newspaper that works pretty good. He does a better job at cleaning them then I do. I like to clean them before it gets really cold outside & before it get's really hot. I don't like to open the windows to clean them when it's 100° outside.

My DH has to clean the windows because it requires a ladder. he refuses to do so any more than once a year. The sprinklers frequently spray onto the windows so we constantly have to look out through dirty windows which really upsets me. When we lived in our previous home and had tilt in windows I cleaned them each week as I cleaned each room in the house. I am starting to nag at DH to get tilt in windows for this home too so I can keep them clean. At least i can clean the sliding doors that face the lake in the back of the house - that whole wall is glass and I keep it sparkling.

Not very often.

Once a year if we are lucky.

When I can no longer see out of them very well. My house has tons of windows and sliders, so they get cleaned as needed.

As often as they need it (weather allowing).

Maybe once a year. We live out in the country, and as soon as the windows get washed, they are covered with spider webs, etc. within a week.

The insides get done when it's needed. I do have tilt ins and the outsides get done once a year with windex. Even then, I'll look at the paper towels and very little grim is on them for the east facing windows so I can't possibly imagine the windows needing a good cleaning more than that.
I usually wait until October so I don't have to deal with the heat or the snow...usually.

I don't have tilt in windows. New windows are going to be the next upgrade on our house. The window above my kitchen sink I clean regularly because I can stand on the kitchen floor for the inside and the back deck to do the outside.
Sliding patio door gets done weekly because of the dogs and the inside of my front picture window gets done at least once a week, if not more, also because the dogs look out that window.
The rest of my windows I generally clean twice a year. In the spring before I open them up and in the fall when I really won't be opening them much anymore.
I cannot imagine not washing my windows since the early 1990's.
