@AussieLuvr That's interesting that you graduated from Parson's School of Design. I toured that one time when I was in New York. I wasn't touring it for myself to go there, but just to tour it.

Painting the interior is on my bucket list. I've always just done it, but the current house has ten foot ceilings in the main living areas. Not tackling them.
Get samples of the colors you like and put them on the wall.

I was born in NYC and lived there most of my life. I had a tuition reimbursement employer and got to go to Parson's for free!! Well ... I did have to pay to park my car three nights per week, lol. Almost of all of my classes were in the 14th Street building. I'd get there a little early and go sit and draw people in Washington Square Park. I loved every second of it!

I am so envious of you! Freshly painted, whole house, and someone doing it for you!
I understand the trouble picking a color. It is a hard thing for me to do as well.
I understand the liking your decor and having a rough time paring it down.
We emptied my son's room when he was in middle school, to paint, carpet and put a queen bed in (you should have seen that big hod of a kid spilling out of a twin bed (LOL) it had to be done!).
What I did when we moved the furniture back in, was to not bring in any decor or wall art at all. I waited for weeks to get used to it empty (I did put two small lamps on the dresser and the book case), and see what I really wanted to add back in.
I felt like you, like I wanted to pare down, but was going to have trouble choosing.
The longer the room was 'empty' of those things, the more I liked it.
I did end up adding some things, a flameless candle on the night stand, and he has a desk with a hutch type top, so I put a couple of things on there, but all in all, very little went back in, and the only thing I"ve added over the years is an antique clock that belonged to my great uncle, that matches the kind of mission oak look of the room.
Don't get in a big hurry to refill the space, especially the walls and give yourself time to really think and let the 'emptiness' sink in. You might like it more than you think.

That sounds like very good advice @Mominohio!

@pattypeepwrote:@NickNack I was just at SW and picked out Kilim Beige for the walls and Dover White for the trim on our rental that we are going to market. Everyone gets 30% off through February.
==========
I'm thinking about a whole house painting and picked that one too. DH likes Sand Dollar. Wish I could paint some of the rooms myself, but my breakfast companion today said I can't even get a forkful of food to my mouth withing dropping some, so how could I paint? Blunt, but true!

Here in Florida you need a soft color to absorb the sun - if you painted a house all white you would have to keep the shades drawn or you'd have reflected sun everywhere you look. I love my all beige with white trim house. It's been 8 years now and I still like it.
My new house is going to be all ivory with white trim. I like ivory too - and a change will be nice. This house is somewhat open concept but has a lot of wall space anyway - not many windows. So there is a lot hanging on these walls. The new house is totally open concept and has many more windows so not much wall space to put anything up. We are going to have a lot of wall decor to get rid of.

@NickNack OK, I'm going to try uploading some pics of my sunroom, painted in Urban Putty. This room is a recent addition to our home and has a vaulted ceiling, 6 windows and French doors so there is a lot of natural light in this room. I opted to pain the mid-Century brick that used to be part of the outside of the house, because painting it makes it seem more like a room and less like something tacked on to the outside of the house. I learned that tip from Joanna Gaines, lol. This room is open to the master suite, which you can see through the door. It is also painted in Urban Putty. The sun went behind a cloud when I took the darker photo, and it makes the Urban Putty look different without the light.

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures @AussieLuvr. I like the paint color very much! Your house is pretty, too.
My parents added a sunroom to their house many years ago and painted the brick wall. I always liked the painted brick a lot.
