It's funny how I now have a greater appreciation of the exterior now that I have seen and love the interior. The setting is an added bonus.

I like the interior better than the exterior.
I like the colors and most of the furnishings in the sitting room, outdoor living room, and bedroom.
I like the kitchen, but I would add some color.
I don't like the draped table in the foyer or the dark wood in the bar at all.

@grandma r wrote:@stevieb. I think the home is beautiful. The interior is lovely although looks more staged than cozy. I do like the kitchen and entry very much.
@grandma r I'm torn on the kitchen. Typically I don't like 'two story' rooms but there's quite a bit to like about this space...

I'm not thinking they were afraid to use color but perhaps the owners and designer made more of a conscious choice not to use much color in support of a more natural and rustic appearance. There is a bit more color evident throughout than we're able to see here, but yes, agreed, the overall vibe is a neutral one.

@jubilant wrote:@stevieb I find this house to be very specific and very special. Not one bit cookie cutter. It is soooooooo well done both inside and outside. The outside exterior has somehow been carried into the interior in a very professional manner and, in this particular home, it is incredible! Nothing like I've ever seen before and very true to what it is. Thanks for sharing it. It's a nice change.
@jubilant Glad you enjoyed seeing this home. Contrary to some opinions, it seems a bit more unique than the usual to me too. I also agree, there is certainly a great deal of cosistency in the complementary interior and exterior designs and in the elements used both inside and out to foster the look of a rustic yet luxurious lakeside home!

@sligo wrote:@stevieb , LOVE!!!!!! Wish I knew where to locate candlesticks. Any idea? Also, I could live on the porch. Beautiful. Stevie, it is time to gather your SUPER IDEAS and write a book. I.m ready to purchase.
@sligo For pillar candlesticks similar to those in the entry but probably for a great deal less, I'd suggest looking at Home Goods, TJ Maxx or Marshall's. Though it's been a while, I've seen a good deal of similar designs at these stores, though the materials used might differ. As for a book, well, we'll see. Not sure I have the stamina, though I'd love to perhaps edit rather than write a design book.

@faeriemoon I found it interesting how well they seem to 'finish' each other. They coordinate well and they complement each other nicely in creating the look the homeowners wanted, one assumes.

This is a lake house? Looks like its a cabin deep in the woods the way its decorated. Not a fan.

@stevieb that's a beautiful place. I love the look from the outside. Some rooms I like better than others.
