Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

Joy! Oh Happy Day!

Hauled 6 large trash bags full of clothes from my bedroom, to my car and then to Goodwill. No problem dropping them off. Exchanged the bags for a receipt. I feel lighter already and I got a large corner of my bedroom back. I don't know what Goodwill will do with my donated clothes, and I don't care- as long as they have moved out of my home and out of my life.

Next up will be trying to find someone to help me sell the remaining clothes on eBay.

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

Found four clothing items (new, with tags) to donate. It was a rainy morning so I took everything out of the linen closet and rearranged it. A neighbor called for some Tylenol (she was hurting from an accident). Lo and behold, I found a new bottle with 100 capsules that she will gratefully accept. They are good until 2024. I think I accidentally ordered a big bottle online and we rarely take pain relievers.

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

I organized my mudroom a bit and found a dog coat to donate from my little dog that passed. It doesn't fit any of my other dogs and was given to me by a friend, I don't think I'll ever use it again, so passing that on,

My younger son bought a new pair of boots so we are donating the pair he has outgrown.

Hubby and I cleaned and organized the garage a bit yesterday and didn't find anything to donate, but we did toss a few things. I can't remember what all went but I know we got rid of a small shop vac that didn't pick up well anymore (that was actually a bummer, I liked that), an empty can of waterproof spray, dog bumper, 2 pie tins, plastic party pail (or 2).

I know there were a few other small things that hubby tossed but I'm not sure what it was and that's okay, the garage looks really nice now. A lot got relocated to our basement storage room which I now have to organize and some went to the polebarn.

I hadn't planned on doing that yeasterday but I'm glad I did. It didn't take long.

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

I parted with two Christopher Radko ornaments.  They hung on those little display thingies and I had no other place for them, than the laundry room, and my stash of napkins and the few cleansers I use regularly took precedence.

It's hard to dust glittery things.

And, a Lenox snow globe that always pained me - the poor snowman inside seemed to me to be drowning.

Little things, but it felt good.  I didn't need them and they had outlived their useful life.  For many years I did enjoy them.

My son tossed a pair of stained jeans that he has outgrown. He had a big growth spurt recently and I think just about everything in his closet is going to get an overhaul.

@queendiva - fabulous!

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

I think I'm going to put a large bin in the trunk of my car for things I want to donate. It will be easier to put items in there one or two at a time instead of hauling separate bags  & boxes up the basement stairs, especially with my current shoulder issues. I can put my items in the carts at the drop off center, and then refill my bin again for the next trip.

A couple of ornamental birdhouses that were enjoyed for many years, but needed to go.

Re: Declutter 2021: What have you purged today?

I've added some items to the bin in the trunk of my car. I'm going to drop them off for donation on my way to PT tomorrow.

One crochet purse with a rolled strap that hurts my shoulder

An old ceramic pitcher from childhood that I never use or display

Three old storybooks from my childhood. I read them one last time before putting them in my donation pile. 🥰

A duplicate plastic platter

A duplicate glass bowl

A large glass bowl that we never use

A cheese platter with knife that we never use
