I posted yesterday, but it never came up. Anyway, I am working on some Christmas aprons (3), I bought the material and pattern in November 2012. Haven't finished even one! Hopefully will have all 3 done in a few months.
Also cross-stitching a little red bird with some holly for Christmas. It's a small project, and I tend to do better with smaller projects. A few years ago, I stitched a fairly big piece for Easter with 2 bunnies in flower pots, and it had a LOT of thread colors. Took me a year and a half, and it came out beautifully. Good luck on your projects!

I love to hear what others are working on! TY, HH, for starting this!
I'm doing a little sun dress for my DGD (19 mos.) I'm only balked because my classes have started, and my attention is elsewhere. I'm in the middle of the dress.
Last week when I had her for a day, I wanted the little Dickens to try on the bodice.....and she refused! Little Punkin! So I have no idea if this is going to fit her or not. I had to alter the pattern because I got the wrong size! And she's also growing by a leap and a bound!
I want to do a retro dress for myself, if I can find the perfect pattern. (I'm wondering if my Mom has all her old patterns up in the attic.)

Right now this seashell pattern I really want to be done so I can put it in the bathroom - then I have a sewing room one with an old fashioned Singer sewing machine formy sewing room to complete. some times they can take years to finish - but i love to have my work hanging on the wall. Harpa - when i was little my Mom had a girlfriend who loved to sew - and only had sons - so she would make me the cutest little jumpers and dresses all the time. i always knew if we were going over there I was going to be trying on some half finished project and have pins sticking in me.But she was a great sewer and I had beautiful dresses all through school. she also got me started sewing. She even made my wedding dress.I love to hear what others are working on! TY, HH, for starting this!

I was at Hancock Fabrics last week and i was looking at the machines. Mine is so old fashioned in comparison to the ones now. But my serger is newer and i love it. it is a White - they make wonderful machines.
HH, sorry I didn't see your other thread. I would have chimed in!
I want the Singer Stylist 7258. Home Depot has the best price. It's supposed to have come into stock on the 5th, but still out. I can wait, since the other one is working good. I think I could have gotten anything, but just wanted a step-up. I'm anxious to try a self-threadder!
My Mom currently has a basic White.
That's so neat about your Mom's GF, who sewed for you! And I love the idea of cross-stitch. I think I have the patience for that, but I can see mine hanging around for years....just too much to do, and too little time in which to do it! ![]()

Happy Housewife...is the cross-stitch with the sewing machine a Paula Vaughn pattern? If so, I did that many years ago and it came out great! It has an old fashioned sewing machine and a long blue dress in it. I love Paula Vaughn patterns, but they are usually very involved.

Oops, I meant is the picture pattern a Paula Vaughn pattern? She does cross-stitch patterns in old-timey settings, and the one I did (by hand) is a picture of an old sewing machine and a long blue dress on a form.
