Hi, @1Professor,

I have a Gucci Boston bag.  Love it.  I'll try to locate a picture of it on the web.

In the meantime, here's a little humor courtesy of Mel Brooks  . . .

I am a Gucci fan. I took a couple of quick snaps of what I'm currently using.

First up are a handbag and wallet.

Then my wristlet for when I don't need to carry much.

And my key fob.

Why yes, I do like pink. Smiley Wink

@QsMom: Yay for pink! And for pink Gucci!

Love [but do not, alas, have] these:

Finished school early and treated myself to a tour of the GUCCI store, which is next to The Container Store in a nearby mall.

This bag is like carrying a garden, and so light-weight, with delicious micro-fiber lining. The BLOOMS GG Supreme Top Handle Boston bag:

The shape reminds me of an LV speedy. Doctor's bag style. The bag wants me. I heard it crying out.

I'm now sorting through my used-once Coach/Dooney/Brahmin to take to the local luxury consignment store—in order to be able to buy a Gucci!

It's a glorious task.

Fewer handbags owned, higher quality, deeper appreciation of the art, architecture, and texture of a high end bag . . .

@1Professor

I completely agree!  I would gladly part with my carefully curated (albeit small) handbag wardrobe in favor of one aspirational handbag.

No more $200- $300 purchases for me.  I have a keen sense of attention to detail and when I compare a Gili copy to the real thing, well, what can I say, there really is no comparison.

I have been searching for my "it" bag for quite some time, unable to make a decision.  Thank you for this thread and please let us know what you choose!

@magicmoodz:

Kindred handbag spirits!

I think, in part, that those of us who did NOT grow up with a lot of money were taught to believe it was wasteful to think of spending $$$ on a handbag. Another factor is those who argue that wearing a high-end bag is attempting to flaunt status.

Look at these Gucci Jackie bags! Unless you are a Gucci bag fan, you'd NEVER know it was Gucci. The only sign is tiny tiny print on the metal fastener! Simple beauty.

Kindred spirits for sure!  I was raised by a father who was a shopper and a leather snob.  To prove it he owned more than 100 pair of shoes!  I was in the third grade when he bought me my first quality pink leather handbag!  I know his appreciation of fine leather rubbed off on me.

The Gucci Jackie above is a beautiful bag.  I do have a penchant for the Soho, although I would have to choose a more neutral color (than pink) because I expect I would be carrying it for the rest of my life!  😊

Great post, 1Professor!  Here's my Gucci collection - although small, I hope to add another bag in the future.  Below is the Soho Medium Shoulder Bag in Black, which I believe was the inspiration for the GILI Roma 2.  Of course with Gucci, the quality is outstanding.

In addition, I also have the Joy Medium Boston Bag in Beige/Ebony GG Canvas with Dark Brown Patent Leather trim:

And, last but not least, the Soho Zip Around Wallet in Pewter:

@1Professor You made me quite curious with this thread about Gucci products. I found there is an outlet store nearby so I plan to check them out in person. Woman Surprised
