Some of my birds...look for the hummer below blue heron on the right.  Photo 1 and 3.  Snow has turned to freezing rain.  This could be a long winter....LM

@Lilysmom      This is so funny because at first when I looked at your post, I did not have my readers on.  I thought that your herons were real birds!  LOL  Oh well, I still think you herons are cute. I have my countdown to summer but yes, I know its a long countdown to go.

Beautiful winter gardens.

Our first snow wasn’t impressive at all but that ok with me.

@Lilysmom  You got quite a bit of that stuff.  We only got a tiny but in NE Ohio, more freezing and rain.  Where are you pray tell?

@2blonde, I am in Nova Scotia, Canada.  I knew we would get more than they said.  Traffic was a nightmare this morning.  I am thankful I didn't have to go out in it.  Too early for snow IMO!  LM

@Lilysmom  I didn't have to go out either because I'm home from work this week.  Had surgery Tuesday for a detached retina....I'm typing this with 1-1/2 eyes, as one of them has a big gas bubble in it right now!  It's been very much below normal temps here for over a month, and they say (with the exception of Thanksgiving next week) it's supposed to stay colder into December.  What the heck happened to El Nino?

Before enlarging your pictures on my iPad I thought you meant there was a real hummer near the heron. Ha!  I was relieved when I saw it wasn’t.  Beautiful pictures with the snow.

Gorgeous pictures @Lilysmom, just glad I don't have snow to contend with.  When it "snows" here in the Birmigham area, traffic is at a standstill and bread flies off the grocery stores shelves LOL.

@2blonde, hope you have a quick recovery.  I imagine it's hard to have your   eye out of business.  I hate anything wrong in the head area.  The eyes are so important.  Good healing wishes for you!  LM
