There's an article on my news feed this morning that states low-rise jeans are coming back in style in 2019-20 and no one is happy about it.  It says that women are complaining on social media that they don't want to wear low-rise jeans......  So why do they feel they have to?  Because some designers say they do?

Do you like low-rise jeans or at-the-waist styles?   Do you buy and wear certain styles  just because "someone" says it's "in," whether you like the style or not?

Re: Low-Rise Jeans

If anything, they are heading up higher and higher.  The rise is now up to 12" (one of which I have)  Also lots of exposed buttons at the fly instead of the zippers.  Looser and baggier in basic cut though skinny is still supreme. Stands to reason, they would creep down.  Can't wear up to your chin you know.   I still have low rise. Never liked  my little tummy peeking out, but I would still wear them..  Love variety in jeans.  Don't own just own one style or brand.  The only one I never owned and never will is boot cut.  Thankful you barely see those anymore. I even hated to look at them.  There is a limit to jeans on how they style them.  That's why they have rehash of 70's, 80's, 90's etc.  I've lost count of the jeans I own. 3/4 to my other clothes. And only premium jeans of course.   But you can't take the jean out of the girl.

High rise up to my belly button... NO.    Low rise down to the crack...NO.

Yikes, why does it have to extremes??  Give me a mid rise please!!

Re: Low-Rise Jeans

I like mine to come up to just below my belly button and the back to come to just below the small of of my back. 'Low-rise' is relative, depending on your frame. On me some low-rise jeans are more like mid-rise because of my very petite frame.

@Skyegirl21  ITA!  Mid rise is the way to go for me personally!  It's funny on one hand women are supposed to "empower" each other yet on the other hand some women will always feel pressure to wear some piece of fashion that could possibly make them feel  (or look) uncomfortable.  The one benefit of getting older is that maturity and self confidence often comes wth it!

Please NO!

I have seen enough butt cracks. I do no care to see anymore.

I don't care what anyone says. I wear my jeans at the waist. And if people want to say I am wearing "old lady jeans". I could care less. I am an old lady.

I read that yesterday as well, @tototwo.  I love low rise and all my pants are mid/low rise.  I don't like the look or feel of high rise on me.  High rise jeans remind me of the 80's.
