I bought my first suede fringe vest in 1968 in high school.  Oh, me!  I LOVED that vest and thought I was so cool.  I've loved fringe since that first purchase and have worn it in some way or another every chance I get.  I will never give it up.  I'll be 99 years old and still sportin' fringe.

@luv-the-Q  Amen! Feel the same way. Fringe with my sideswept bangs and on my bags and maybe boots if I find some cute reasonably priced ones this season....

In general I like fringe but there are times I think it is distracting or impractical.  I ordered a long red cape from NOVICA.  It was trimmed in fringe.  I decided to remove it. (it took close to 2 hours)  By the time I was finished, I swear I removed 2 skeins of yarn.  I must say I do like the cape much better without the fringe.

I had a fringe handbag in 1974 (?) when I was 14 and I thought I was the coolest kid ever.  (I wasn't . . .even with the bag.)

I am not a fan of fringe either.  I don't mind a tiny bit on a zipper pull but that is it.  I definitely don't want it on any clothing.  I can't imagine how you launder a fringe top or dress or skirt.  Doesn't the fringe get all knotted up?  That's what happened to me when I washed a throw with fringe (on the hand wash cycle.)  Do clothing items with fringe have to be dry cleaned? No thanks.

I think fringe is like denim or animal print.  It doesn't matter if everyone likes it, it doesn't matter what the fashionistas are saying, some things are just always around and we each get to choose what we like.  I never want to love everything I see.

I like fringe to a "point".  I have the GILI handbag with the fringe tassel but nothing else has hit me.  I prefer to have a more classic or "clean" look.

Fringe bags have been around for eons.  Very popular w/female motorcycle gang hanger ons & female motor cycle riders.

For some strange reason, they are just now coming out in the main stream world.

Fringe boots have been popular in Europe for eons too.  I have a pair of 20 yr old red suade knee high fringe boots that I purchased in Belgium of all places.  At that time, most of the Europeans were wearing ankle fringe boots.

Fringe was also huge in the US during the late 60's - 70's Hippy Days, long fringe on vests, fringe on handbags and boots and pretty much everything else you can think of and often no discretion as to whether you wear all the fringe at once or not.... lol.... I was in college at the time and was into fringe big time.... Woman LOL

I like fringe, but not too-too much fringe on each particular item.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I love fringe on boots, jackets,  and handbags but not on wraps, capes, etc.
