Re: Windows 10 update drivers

Generally speaking stop code errors will have a series of numbers after them. Those numbers let you more precisely narrow the problem down. If this is a new problem and you can find the driver that's responsible you can either rollback that driver, or reinstall the old version from your hard drive. When Windows installs new drivers it leaves the old ones on your computer in case you need them. Not all stop code errors are driver related however. You could waste a few hours updating drivers only to find it's not a driver issue, or if it is a driver issue and you simply update the driver, you're likely adding back the bad driver. You need to narrow the field of suspects. As a rule your computer will automatically update the drivers, but if it's an updated driver that's causing the problem, then you need to rollback or reinstall an earlier version.

About a year and a half Ă go there was a Windows update on Thanksgiving that altered screen resolution on lots and lots of computers. Rolling back to the old driver solved that issue. If the error occurs again, note the numbers and exact wording of the error message, then Google it, and you should find your answer.

Re: Windows 10 update drivers

I started getting the 'blue screen of death' it would crash on me

This time instead of saying 'stop/code . It said 'Corrupted driver xpool '

I found online what your suppose to do , but, to complicated for me to handle just took it into the shop (laptop) and told them the problem.

If it's just a diagnostic problem be 54 bucks, if they have to get into it

to much be more.

Sure it's got something to do with Windows Updates. Why I bought a Apple to get away from those dumb updates that do more damage then good.

Person can't afford Apples all over LOL I got one and it's a peach, but, I can't afford another Apple for the living room and then he has to have one all his own. More then I want to let loose of in my old age. LOL

I got a tablet I can make do with too. I spend to much time online anyway should be doing other things. LOL

Does Windows still have system restore? If so, restore it back to a time when it worked.

System Restore didn't work with the Thanksgiving 2017 driver issue. You would think it would, but it didn't which left a lot of people very frustrated.

What I miss having all Apple devices.  While Apple does have updates which cause problems, it's not as often.

Re: Windows 10 update drivers

I'm very happy to report that Thanksgiving 2017 update was the only one that's caused me any trouble with Windows 10, and I had it figured out by that evening, so it wasn't too bad.

I remember those dreaded updates. So glad I decided to get Chrombooks just love them. And they update themselves. No issues with anything.

Is that right ? Have to look into that option. Your not associated with

windows, at all  ?

I've been tied to Windows for so long, got a Apple mini cube , love it

drop kicked Windows, still have them on 2 laptops, but, hubbo is bellowing we're gonna have to completely say P on them.

I'll research Chromebooks hope they aren't as pricey as Apples
