We have roku's in all our bedrooms. We love it, kids love it, but only 2 people can use the Roku for Netflix at a time, we don't like that. This is because of Netflix tho not Roku. I am considering adding huluplus to ours. The original Roku offered Hulu for free, wish we had that one. I am planning to buy the newest Roku for our living room, the only TV without one in the house. Does Roku 3 have a youtube app?

AS far as free channels, we have not found them, except for Crackle, a free movie channel that none of us enjoy, and Pandora for music. I have heard others exist tho. You do need to have fast internet and you will avoid freezing and reload issues. We are considering getting rid of cable too.

I think I will get ours at Costco, but I am sure Walmart, Target, Best Buy etc. all have this, but I don't think QVC does.

Only person can be signed into a Neflix account at one time, my kids and I used share one, we found that out, it has nothing to do with the Roku.

I have a Roku and just set one up for my parents this Christmas. I find the remote frustrating to use and the Roku3 has the same remote.

If you have a smartphone or a tablet, I would save some money and buy Chromecast for $35. It's the same concept, but instead of a cheap remote with no keyboard, you use your phone or tablet and a Chromecast App. Then you can use YouTube, Hulu, NetFlix, Pandora, etc on your tablet and have it show up on your HDTV.

Once I move later this month, I'll buy that to replace my Roku.

I got mine at Costco I think it was $80 or something like that, but I don't shop at Target or Best Buy.

As for free channels there seem to be plenty but not really any to watch frequently.

HSN and the Q are there both in HD, my cable company doesn't offer HSN in HD.

I use it for Amazon, Acorn on line and Netflix when we had it.

It is nice because all the streaming channels are there in one place.

I have the original roku and two roku 2. Hulu was never offered for free. There was a trial, but the subscription was never free.

suzeecat....there is nothing wrong with the Roku. You need high speed internet. You may even need a booster in your house, depending on your layout. We LOVE our Roku. Just bought a 2nd one on ebay!

BE sure to get Roku app for your phone. Then it becomes your remote control.

I just set mine up yesterday and it is great. I got amazon, netflix and hulu plus to watch on it. I read the reviews on amazon and they said you need at least an internet speed of 3mbps. you can test your speed at speedtest.net

I recently got "sold" on a Roku3 after going to Radio Shack to buy a micro-Hdmi cable in order to stream Netflix from my Kindle Fire. The guy told me I would get all these "free" channels and I wouldn't even need to use my Kindle Fire to stream Netflix. Well, that's all fine and good except I haven't found anything "free" about it! All the channels or apps or whatever they're called are free for a month, but you can't get your free month unless you give them your credit card info so that they can automatically charge you after your "free" month is up!

Also, I'm not sure if it's a Roku issue, Netflix, or something else, but the shows I watch through Netflix always freeze up/stop/pause to buffer. It's quite annoying, and many times I have to start the program over and f/f to where it left off.

I probably should just return the box, but I've already registered it and used it so I decided to just keep it. But, reading other positive comments here, I'm feeling a little better about it overall.

That is entirely incorrect. There are only a few channels that you pay for with Roku; mainly Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus.

The buffering is due to your internet being too slow.
