I called Tracfone to connect my phone and they disconnected my old phone and I can't add contacts to new phone, can't use old phone and they told me not to contact for 5 days to transfer from old phone.

I cannot even type in my contacts to new phone, so now don't know what to do, without contacts and really messed up my new phone.

Can anyone help me, thank you.

If I was 89 years old, not tech savvy and had a phone which works, I wouldn't buy a new one until it broke.  Most device don't need to be replaced every year or two.  Save yourself a LOT of aggravation and keep this new phone until it no longer works.

The reason for the new phone is HSN sells these and they have a experaton date a year later.  I tried to keep the old phone but was told  the 13g was not able to renew, plus it would cost more than a new tracfone. The old phone was expiring this month and cheaper to get the new one. I even went to best buy to pay for another year on the old phone, but was told that model was obsolete.

Please don't assume , I'm not tech savvy.   I  never had a problem doing this transfer on tracfones for the last 4 years. I buy one every year from HSN.  My problem was calling tracfone.  I have been using ipads, computers, etc , for quite awhile.  Eight nine doesn't mean stupid. I think you were rude assuming I was too old to be savvy.

Some of the terms on this phone I don't understand and worry about pushing the wrong button.  That  is why , I asked for help here.  I have no one in person I can ask.. My sons in their 60,s can't help, not tech savvy.

I'm glad to hear you are tech savvy but, most who post here aren't.  They buy a new Tracfone every year to save a few bucks on minutes and text messages.  Then have days or weeks of aggravation trying to get their information transfered and the phone setup they way they want it.  Most devices are good for years before becoming obsolete. Plus it's better for the environment to use a device for a longer period of time.

Re: New AGalaxy A1 5TH 5G need help please

The life of a modern cell phone largely comes down to its battery. And battery life is measured in cycles. A typical cellphone's battery is good for 500-600 cycles. A cycle being one discharge and recharge. If you're on your phone a lot and recharge it each night, that's 365 cycles in one year leaving just 135-235 cycles still available, so replacing the phone each year is often more practical than trying to hold onto the same phone for years.

Sending the phone out to have the battery replaced can cost more than replacing the typical Tracfone. There's a reason phone companies went away from easily replaceable batteries and it's to get you to buy new phones. If you try to "stick it to the man" by holding onto the phone and replacing the battery, you end up paying more and getting less.

When you buy one of these tracfones from HSN or QVC, they give you 1500min, data, 1500 talk and 1500 text. It also transfers your mins left on old phone to new one.  Like I said, I tried to buy old one before experation date and best buy said the 13g was obsolete and not worth it. Also it was cheaper to get new phone at 99.00 with all the minutes added.

First time I had trouble transfering..  I did google to ask how to transfer pictures and do have smart switch to do so.

Last year when I got the phone, It only took me one hour to do everything. I should have never contacted Tracfone.  That is what really screwed me over.  I wanted to keep the old phone.

Everything working OK, and I will now transfer the photos I want to keep.

@gadgetgal613 : I didn't want a new phone but necessary because the battery would not keep a charge. I hate changing phones every year. I am  not using my new phone a lot and praying that I can use it a few more years.

That's a good reason to get a new phone.  That is not always the case.
