I called Tracfone to connect my phone and they disconnected my old phone and I can't add contacts to new phone, can't use old phone and they told me not to contact for 5 days to transfer from old phone.
I cannot even type in my contacts to new phone, so now don't know what to do, without contacts and really messed up my new phone.
Can anyone help me, thank you.

@qvcaddition I am sorry you are having this much trouble with your new phone. I am not understanding why you cant add contacts to your new phone, and why they said not to contact for 5 days.
Can you make calls with your new phone? I personally would call back and see if someone else can help you. I have had customer service elevate my call to another higher level department to help me when they can't.
I always use the Samsung Smart Switch app that comes loaded on my phone to transfer my contacts and everything else.
Maybe @gardenman can chime in. He is always so helpful!
I hope you can get this worked out soon. Post back with more information if you can.

When I get a new phone, Google/Android transfers everything for me. I just log into Google on the new phone and it transfers everything over.
I also don't understand why you can't add the contacts manually and you can't contact them for five days. I would call back and try to talk to someone sane.

I just need to transfer my pictures to new phone.. The person on tracfone said if i did smart switch before five days I would lose my service. Also to not call Tracfone service for 5 days, I would lose service.
He kept putting me on hold, then would cone back on.
The only information on my old phone was pictures and phone numbers.
My life is not on my phone. I don't email on it, or anything personal.
I received all my 1500 mins everything.
I just never had my old phone contract cut off before it expired on March 28th. All my minutes left on old phone transfer to new phone. Pictures are the only thing left to transfer. Ill wait the 5 days.

I don't have Tracfone but, none of what you posted sounds correct. Call back and talk to someone else.

@qvcaddition : So sorry for your problems.I am not tech smart. But none of this sounds like good advice. One thing that I have learned dealing with customer service people: Some don't know their job, some don't care and will not do everything to help you. My last experience with Tracfone customer service took 3 different phone calls and plus I hate the on line chat service because I type very slow but I tried that and finally received the help and he did what was necessary to solve my phone problem. I am not embarrassed to tell them that I don't understand what they are saying or doing. I have asked them to repeat or speak slower. When ever I call customer service: I always have several ink pens and a note book to write everything down. I do this when dealing with any customer service department and when necessary ask for the supervisor or someone to else. I hope you get the help and service that you need.
Edited to add: I am 70. I have a note book that I keep all my account passwords and user ids and if anything changed or updated: list the date and information.

When it comes to photos on the phone, I back up my photos to my Amazon Prime account, Google, and also Microsoft on my Microsoft 360 account (OneDrive) and once I install and log into that software on the new phone, the photos come over to it.
The photos on your old Android phone should be in the Photos app (the multi-color windmill looking thing) on your old phone. If you log into Google on the new phone, they should show up in that app on the new phone.

I understand and do the same as you do. I will be 89 in three months. I have been doing this with new tracfones for 4 years and this is the first year I have had so much trouble.
I also tell them, please talk slower and louder. Before I called, I tried to do it online through the tracfone site, didn't work. The first person I spoke with, I cou;d not understand. The 2nd person, I could, but he took over an hour to finish and you could tell he was frustrated with me. It was a mess, but learning new phone now. I just have pictures to transfer now using Smart Switch. Nothing else is on my phone to transfer.
I also have a notebook with all passwords, notations, etc. I write everything down as they are talking to me, and date it all, including their names which are proberly false. I type 611611 help when I need to know mins left.etc.
Thank you for answering. Its a tough world and the elderly need to know how to navigate through lots of things. i have friends that don't use the computer and their life doesn't seem as stressful without it, but we need it in todays world. Have a wonderful day.

If I was 89 years old, not tech savvy and had a phone which works, I wouldn't buy a new one until it broke. Most device don't need to be replaced every year or two. Save yourself a LOT of aggravation and keep this new phone until it no longer works.
