Ccleaner says I need some updates on my computer.  Can I trust them and put them in.

Generally speaking yes you can trust CCleaner but take the time to check the date of the update compared to what is already in place on your computer.

I have found that sometimes CCleaner has an older version of software or drivers that what is currently installed.

Thanks for the info.  Ccleaner never had an update for me ever.  Don't know what to trust today for the computer.  I have Belarc but haven't checked it.

Yes and no. If it's really from CCleaner then you can trust it. If you launched CCleaner and it said there's an update, you should be fine. if you got a random email or a pop-up with a link, you might need to be more cautious. The bad guys/gals often hide behind seemingly legitimate software to try and fool people into installing their malware.
