I bought a Samsung Trac Phone today at Walmart - $9.98. I paid $20 for the minutes - didn't use it yet.

This is more info about TracFone.

I'm electronically challenged --- so this was a big deal for me to get a cell phone. The woman working in the ""phone section"" at Walmart activated it for me - as I knew I wouldn't be able to do it. Thanks for ur advice.

My husband and I both have the LG Tracfone I bought from HSN and for the money it's a deal. Our phones were under 90 dollars and on easy pay and we got 1500 minutes, a years service and triple minutes for the life of the phone. 1500 minutes cost a lot more than 90 dollars, just remember you have to buy more minutes before your year of service is up.

Last time, I just bought a new phone. It's the cheapest way to get a lot of minutes.

I think the LG 840G is down to $79.99.

You could check into the Jitterbug phones. There is no contract and payments can be as low as $14.99 per month. HTH

I got a Tracfone LG840g in 2012, then when my year of service was up, I bought another (both from HSN). I ditched the second phone but applied the minutes to my older phone. So I get a year of service with more minutes than I'll ever use for $7.00, a month.
