Re: Anyone Getting The New iPad Pro

YEP! Ours will be delivered Monday. We even had our name engraved on it!

Re: Anyone Getting The New iPad Pro

I'm not because I just got the new ipad a few months ago, it works with apple pencil which is what I wanted. I didn't really need the pro.

@Jordan2, I have iPad Pro.  Mine is a little over a year old.  I haven’t bought the pencil.  I might but I don’t really see myself using it after the novelty wears off.  I heard some time ago that the next pencil will have ridges and I was kind of waiting for that.  The complaint about the original pencil is that it rolls off surfaces because it is round and gets damaged in the fall.

I don’t think I would pay extra for iPad Pro next time because I don’t do anything on it I couldn't do on a regular iPad.  LM

I have a cheap after market case for my 2018 ipad and it has a slot to store my pencil. If I'm not using the pencil, I pop it in the slot. It hasn't had any damage and I'm still on the original end tip.

@Lilysmom, I think the new pencil must have a magnet as it sticks to the tablet.

@Jordan2, is there a new pencil?  I never heard anything about it and I usually get notices.  Would like to know.  LM

Mine is an iPad Pro, but I’m sure you know that! It came out in 2017, so it is not the new one.

It was nowhere near 5k Wonder what makes the new ones so expensive?

I read that Apple has raised there prices on these devices because they have been losing money on customers who have been going to cheaper devices. Not because of performance it has gotten to expensive for them.  And no I am not getting this device.

@Lilysmom

The pencil (2nd gen) is new.  It does not come w/the new or old iPad Pro.

If you check the "What's In The Box" section on Apple's site, you will see for yourself that the pencil is not listed.  Same in the Buy/Customize section.

The tv commercial makes it seem like the pencil is included.

You can also call the online & offline Apple Store for confirmation.

@Lilysmom, there definitely is a new pencil (2nd generation), I don't know if you can use it with the previous iPad Pro.

This is interesting:

@LTT1, well that's pretty disturbing! That being said, I treat my electronics like they're made of glass, so I can't see that happening to me. It does though make you think twice about purchasing it as it costs a king's ransom!
