Hi MsLomo....there's something seriously wrong with people who lack a sweet tooth! Really! If I stay away from it altogether, I'm okay, but one bite and I'm a goner. I have a friend who is content with ONE BITE of cake or anything else sweet. WHAT? Love your 5 year old reasoning. DD isn't into Outshine, so yes, I do need to just not buy them.

When she gets gifts for Christmas or at the end of school, there is always lots of "goodies". She keeps what she wants, offers me some and throws the rest in the trash as you did. It's not a waste....and better than a larger waist! The thing with gaining 10 pounds is that it can easily become 20, 30, 40, etc. Been there done that many times in my life.

Not tempted by the salty things, so I don't mind them being around. I had DD buy me some yogurts that I freeze and eat with a spoon as a snack that is good for me. Will see how that works. We will compare notes one day. The reunion is a good incentive for you.

DD was able to arrange to be off work tomorrow so she can be here to talk with the painters about some other things we would like them to do. I'm really glad about that.

Hope you and your MrLomo are continuing to feel better, and that your DS's life is going well.

Oh cute, you have way more will-power than you think I have. See, you may eat something sweet, but then you get on the Gazelle and work it off, while I just sit. I got as far with the exercise equipment as to open the box!

How nice that your GGS is with you. You must be wonderful people for those kids to want to be there. DD is here today and I'm glad. The painter brought his crew and looked all around and we told him we would like the old patio cover removed, so they are doing that now and also filling places in the stucco that needed it. They will make a new patio cover for us after the painting is finished. They are going to paint the bench and glider we have also. RED to match the front door. I don't think they can do it all this week, but it's outside and I don't care if they need to return next week. It will be wonderful.

Had to get up early this morning, and I don't do early! I could sleep right now if possible.

The person who was supposed to look at DD's unit last night didn't show up. DD and her hubby are going today to look at two possible places for them to buy once they sell. All exciting.

Hi cute, so glad you enjoyed time with your GS. And got your lawn mowed before it rained. It's turning into a warm sunny day here, though we had sort of a gloomy early morning. I'm not good at getting up early, so I'm going to sleep in tomorrow when DD is here. The men have been covering the windows and doors getting ready to paint. My guess is they will do the house today and the trim tomorrow, but that's a guess. It looks odd without the patio cover, and it's sort of sad since hubby built it, but it was falling down and didn't look good. They will probably put up the new one next week, but not sure. I'm glad this work is being done outside.

DD and her hubby looked at two places last night getting ideas about what they want in a new place. She's also going to have a contractor come and talk about how much it would cost to gut the place she has and enlarge it, adding a second bath. They would have to move out for the time that would take. But it's good to get someone else's opinion.

Hey MsLomo.....thanks for stopping by. So good to see you. OMG, you tossed the candy. Such will power. A friend told me that they don't like ice cream. I looked at him like he was cray cray. How can you not like ice cream. Anyway, it is good that you are not watching Dimitri. That guy is hypnotic. I must say that the pastor's wife gave me a huge compliment. She said that my skin is so beautiful. Well, dab nab it!!! That did it for me. I will stay with Dimitri. So you have purchased some goodies from Marla Wynn. I love her, and I have a few pieces of her jewelry, although I try to wait until they are marked down. I did report back a few pages on my birthday celebration. My brother and SIL gave me a surprise birthday dinner/party at a really nice restaurant in town. Glad that I was dressed up for the surprise. I wore a red maxi dress with a red and gold Cleopatra collar and gold cuff and hoop earrings. After that, Mr. 6'2" and I went to Lake Tahoe--which was beautiful and relaxing.

Hi Snappy; so happy that the painting has begun. Love the red bench idea. I am so excited for you. It feels like I am there with you, except for having to get up so early, but you will forget all about that in a few weeks. I am so happy that that other painting contractor did not get back in touch with you. He was unreliable. We won't be getting any rain, and I see that the lawns are starting to turn brown. Went to the drive-thru last night, and I saw the homeless man across the street. He was setting on a bench. He has moved about 2 blocks down from where he used to be. Seems to be okay.

My Hubby's Aunt is " 100 " today !! an Still Going strong.. she has Out lived her 2 children, an a daughter in law as they passed away with Cancer..

Hi, Issy! I tried Texas Rising, and it bored me or something. Glad the homeless man is still around. Our city is only going to water the medians and parks 3 times a week for 15 mins. They will be taking the grass out of the medians and replacing it with drought tolerant plants. Our lawns are getting brown also. Right now the back one is covered with supplies the painters/builders are using. It's pretty exciting around here. We were sealed in with plastic on all the windows until a couple of hours ago. Couldn't get out of the house while they painted the garage door. The trim shows up really well under the covered porch. I'd call it olive and it's so much more modern looking than the hunter. They have sanded the bench and glider and are going to paint them red, with black on the metal trim. They will put up the new light fixtures today. GS is coming this afternoon with bags of mulch for the planter between our driveway and the neighbor's. The wood for the patio cover has come and they have been painting it white. The cover will be a vinyl that looks like wood. Very close weave that will allow in air, but give us more shade. We are blessed indeed that the other man just dropped out of the picture. David brought a helper today and hung the ceramic flowers I bought for my bathroom. Such a small thing for them, but so nice for me and I cried a bit, missing hubby.

cute, so you have GGkids who will be out there driving soon. You had an earthquake? We get them all the time and unless they are right under where we live or more than 3.5, we don't feel them either. Yesterday I thought about how all this work could be destroyed in a flash with the "big one". Not likely, but it could happen. I feel so blessed. Never before been able to do work like this, and couldn't now if I hadn't sold to DD. I like knowing that we can enjoy it now, and that when she is alone someday, she will be in a safe, nice house that she can sell if she needs to. We need to get that planter finished.

Happy Birthday to your hubby's aunt!!! Good for her. Must be very hard to have outlived her children. Sad, but glad she is going strong.

DD and her hubby liked the place they toured, but don't know how much it will cost. Still, they get new ideas about what they want in their place and have fun doing it.

That is such sad news on Joe Biden's son suddenly passing. At least it seemed quite sudden to me. . . I had not heard he was even ill with brain cancer. God rest his soul. . .

Hi, ISSY! Glad you like the Larimar. . . found only in the Dominican Republic, I understand. I am not the authority on stones that you and some of the other ladies are. I looked it up and discovered some trivia associated with it. Apparently Edgar Cayce predicted that on one of the Caribbean islands, being the remnants of Atlantis (according to him) a blue stone of Atlantean origin would be found with extraordinary healing attributes. In 1974, Larimar was found in the Dominican Republic. . . I don't believe in these things, but found it 'interesting'.
