How nice that your family stopped by for a visit. You must be looking forward to seeing your GD from OK. Sounds like a family reunion. Praying for good weather so you can all enjoy the outdoors.

It's so dark and cloudy here, but no rain. DD#1 did hear that there has been snow in the Sierras which is so important for the snow pack is where we get out water. I won't be able to get out to grocery shop mid week. Not going to leave the painters here alone, so DD has to get more stuff today. We both slept really late today.

My Body Gym came yesterday. Haven't tried to put it together yet, but will. Also the Monster vac in teal is here waiting for someone to use it....hmmm. that would be me, I guess.

So grateful to all our servicemen and women past and present and for their sacrifices for out freedom and the help they give to people all over the world. May the Lord comfort those whose loved ones lost their lives in service.

Hi cute. We have a cool day, cloudy too, but I don't think we will get rain. Wore a IM sweater to church today over a long sleeved top. Don't get much chance to wear them.

Lady, you shine from the inside out! Never mind what you wear. I've noticed that QF is Americana. Patriotic especially as we approach summer and the 4th of July. I still have my Story Book Knit red/white/blue sweater from HSN. Gave away most of the ones I bought back then.

Am hoping you have a wonderful time tomorrow with your beautiful family. So glad you get to see the GD from OK and the precious baby. We will be here putting away things that would be in the way of the painters. I must have told you they are scheduled to come on Wednesday and finish on Saturday. We are so excited to have this work done and to see how the house looks all new again.

Am thankful for all who gave their lives that we might be free, and for those who serve today everywhere. e

Hello! Thank you for keeping me and DH in your thoughts and prayers ... I believe in the power of prayer and I am grateful for your support and kindness. I am pleased to tell you that the situation is a lot better. Still a bit of a road ahead, but wonderful progress nonetheless. (I wish we were all at *bucks, talking while sipping our delish drinks -- instead of "online.")

I have been catching up on my "Hello" reading. Glad to see that all is well. I picture Baby Bunny hanging out and eating pieces of the lawn. Speaking of ... Cute t, I'm glad you were able to snatch back (I mean, gently take) the mowing job back from DH. Let's face it, we appreciate "their" help, but they don't do it QUITE the same as we do ... they miss spots, don't pay attention to details as we would, etc. (Of course, pointing that out is not recommended, as any of us married longer than 10 years can attest. Ha. I mean, you CAN point it out, but you will regret it!)

Snappy, I know you have to be relieved that the painting will finally happen. It's always a trauma while it's going on, but so worth it when it's over. I think of you whenever I'm in the grocery store and I pass the fruit bars. Any progress on the 8 pounds? My weight is sneaking back up, and I'm blaming it on my lack of self-control with these "macadamia nut clusters" (with chocolate, like "turtles") that are in the house. They were handing out free samples at Costco, and, oh my, what a nice combination. Of course, I bought a big plastic container of them. I poured them into a freezer bag and froze them, and now DH and I are chipping away at them. I think to myself, "OK, just ONE," which then turns into little bits here and there ... "Oh look, a piece of chocolate-covered nut that is sticking out uneven ... must snap it off ... yes, that looks better now [while chewing]. Oh no, there's another uneven one! I can fix that one, too!")

Issy, the garden hopper story never fails to make me laugh. How is work? And how is 6'2? How was your birthday celebration with him? If you told us, I'm sorry that I missed it! I don't think I'll ever forget the birthday with the shoes/boots. I have stayed away from Evine because I don't want to buy anything. BECAUSE I bought a pair of Yummie (Heather T) skimmer jeans, a Colleen Lopez top, and a couple of MarlaWynne sale pieces that are very nice. I think I've probably bought a few more pieces, but I am having amnesia about it at the moment.

I did just buy some Tim Gunn sheets from here ... they are 100-percent cotton, and I love them. I wash in warm water and throw in a warm dryer, and they come out so soft and pretty. A bit wrinkled, yes, but what cotton isn't ... but I can fold them nicely. They're on clearance so I am going back to get more before they run out.

I also bought "as is" jewelry from here tonight -- the Shawn ring and the courage charm bracelet. I have been looking at them for a long time, and the "as is" price is right. I'll open them to be sure they are in good shape, and then I will put them away to save for anniversary and birthday presents (to myself!) this summer. So, I am realizing (as I list all of these purchases) that I have been doing some damage!

Hi friends, it's cloudy and cool today, but I don't think rain is coming. DD#1 and her hubby will be here in about an hour, so I need to brush my teeth and put on a face...let's see which one should I wear? They will be in the area and want to see the new gates and visit a bit.

cute, oh that little baby girl sounds so darling! Blond curly hair. Oh my. And talking with that sweet voice. So grateful that family is near enough so you can spend special times with them. Love the bunnies there. Maybe your bunny would like to live with them? The food sounds so wonderful and home made ice cream for so many people. But then there are lots of people to help with the work and it's fun. You have such a special family. Have you heard from your DD lately? Yes, the painters will be here and gone before we know it and we are excited to have it done.

MsLomo, so grateful to see you here today and to know that the Lord has been working to help you and your hubby. Am certain whatever remains to be endured will be, and it will be behind you.

Speaking of "behind". The 8 pounds is now 10, and I'm frantic with myself. Am disgusted by the way I look and feel and the clothes I can't wear right now. The Outshine bars are low in calorie 40 each, but if I eat 8 or more, and I sometimes do, that's nearly 400 calories. And DD buys WW ice cream and I've been sneaking some of those too. Bad. I just have to stop. Oh dear, I didn't know about Costco's macademia nut clusters, but am all too familiar with having to eat off the edge just so it's symmetrical. Freezing things so as not to eat them doesn't work for me. I know it does for others. I just have to get a grip and stop it. My best wishes to you as you fight the battle of the bulge. We can do it together.

Hi cute, I've never had a lilac bush, but they do smell good. Glad you have one and that it brings back memories of your mom and your childhood. It's in the 70s here. Sunny. The painter called a while ago to say he had forgotten about the holiday, so they can't work here tomorrow. They will start Thursday at 8 in the morning. He had told me it will take 4 days, so I said "then you won't be finished on Saturday", but he said yes that he would. DD had arranged to take tomorrow off so she could talk with them, so she cancelled that and is going to see if she can be here on Thursday. We want them to take down the old patio cover and build a new one, but they don't know that yet.

Sounds like you had a grand old time yesterday. So much fun, and babies! Oh, I'd love to have one in our family, but the grands aren't into babies. And only one is married. They don't want kids. DD has 3 more weeks of school. Hope all this work is finished so she doesn't have to deal with it during her vacation.

DD#1 and her hubby came by yesterday. Someone is coming to see her unit tonight, and they are going to tour 2 places that are up for sale to see if they would like either of them.

I'm going to check here to see if there's a humidifier that might help with the dry eyes and mouth. Need one that is quiet. It helps to read the reviews.

Snappy, you are so funny about "behind." Ha! Yes, we can do this! I took the freezer bag full of fresh and delicious Costco macadamia nut clusters ... and ... tossed it in the garbage. Yep, I did. DH agreed. (Easy for him -- no "sweet tooth"!) I wish I were able to take one or even a half of one, enjoy it, and that's it for the night, but I am not wired that way.

I'll never forget a childhood friend who used to open a candy bar, cut off about a third of it, tuck it neatly back inside, fold the wrapper, and tape it closed until next time! I was aghast . I thought she had a serious problem. Along with a boy named "Danny" (we were all about 5 years old) who told me and my sister that HE DIDN'T LIKE CANDY. I knew with the certainty and simplicity of a 5-year-old that we could never be close friends. His face told us that he felt the same way about us, the candy hogs.

Does DD like the Outshine Bars? If she doesn't care about them, I'd get them out of your freezer. I understand compulsive behavior, though. What works best for me is not having tempting anything in the house. Really, though, 10 lbs is not like 50, and you have kept it off for so long ... so you had a little lapse. I understand how that happens, and I don't want you to be too hard on yourself about it. Part of the 10 is water weight, too. My 50-year high-school reunion is this summer, and I keep reminding myself of that ... time to get serious! I will think of you the next time I'm about to fall on the bag of Ruffles Original. DH likes to keep them around. I'm hoping that thinking of you saying no to an Outshine will help me get some control!

Snappy, I think DD and SIL's LW place may be sold soon ... I hope so! Fingers are crossed. What did they think of your new gates?

Devia, such a great time at your family party. And your yard must be gorgeous! I also could not sign in here last night. It would not recognize my email address as "valid," so I called, and the rep said they were working on it. That happens more frequently than it should here -- maybe a connection to an "Easy Pay" event (?).
