It sounds like a world where no one is allowed to have thoughts of their own.

I think the world grows and becomes better because of adverse views. We would all need to be programmed robots. I think expressing views in a thoughtful way would be better.

It is very possible if folks would just listen to me and do what I say and think as I think.  See?  Easy!  Woman Wink

@princesess ,  I do believe that in this flawed world that we currently inhabit, there can't be harmony, because of our natures, sadly.

But, at the same time, we are not exempted from trying our best to get along, and be at least cordial, even to those whose world view or value systems conflict with ours.  We don't have to agree with them, thank goodness, but we can see them always, as fellow creatures who have innate value.

Re: getting along

[ Edited ]

Like many of us we may have dreamt of world peace or heard contestants for beauty pageants wish for world peace. Maybe when we were very young or long ago.

I no longer wish for it or hope  for it because I know it  probably couldn't possibly happen. Just not something all humans in the world could accomplish. Maybe only in my dreams.

But I do think in each of our worlds, we can do our best to make peace around us with those we know. Even those who disagree with us.  I know that is not an easy thing to do!

Be the change you want to see in the world. It happens one by one.

@princesess   It would be beautiful.

What you wrote instantly reminded me of this song from the 1960's:  I edited the lyrics a bit .... (too long!)

Get Together
Song by The Youngblood

'
Love is but a song we sing
Fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why

Come on, people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

Some may come and some may go
He will surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment's sunlight
Fading in the grass

Come on, people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

If you hear the song I sing
You will understand, listen
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command

Come on, people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

@moonandthestars,

I also love that song and another great one sung at Woodstock.

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"
