I love how they are going to change out actors and characters each season.  It is a good formula

Ray being shot...please no HBO!! Don't kil off your lead character! This isn't Game of Thrones!

Re: anyone else watching True Detective?

I found this interview with Taylor Kitsch (he plays Paul, the chips officer, that might hold an answer...

Spoiler
There’s a scene in Episode 4 where Paul just melts down in front of Farrell’s character, and I came out of that wishing we had more scenes like that between these characters because they’re both so *****up and could seek help within one another. There’s a relatability factor there that’s really ****** intense.

Episode 4?  Since Paul & Ray didn't have much interaction yet, that cannot be a flashback.  So, yeah, Ray is alive?  Thanks for the spoiler, Taylor! hahaha

read the interview at http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/06/29/taylor-kitsch-on-true-detective-mcconaughey-s-words...

Re: anyone else watching True Detective?

I always forget.  That's ok, I'll watch it tonight ON DEMAND during the Inspired Style and Logo shows.  HBO may even be repeating it.

I don't know how he can't be dead, the shooter stood over him and shot him directly in the stomach.

I watched the first episode twice, and the second one once.  I will have to watch it again because I still have absolutely no idea what it's about.

I don't mind having to figure out the puzzle, but there's nothing cohesive about it so far.  And, like all the new shows, they talk so fast one misses half the plot.

Re: anyone else watching True Detective?

My husband and I are watching and will probably finish it out. But I must say, now that we watched the 2nd episode, it has become disappointing. WAY too much talking and not enough action. I found myself starting to doze off (which never happens when I watch tv). I hope it picks up soon.

Oh also, I said to my husband Vince V just doesn't fit in. He always has a smile like expression on his face from doing so many comedies, that he isn't much of a serious actor (IMO).

Re: anyone else watching True Detective?

It seems like it has been longer than a week since the last episode!!  I hope we find out what happened to Ray tonight!  I think he is still alive - what say you?

tansy - yes he was - BUT

Spoiler
BUT the previews last week had a chief of police talk about one of his cops being shot, not killed. Plus, read the spoiler I posted earlier this week - one of the actors mentioned a scene with Colin Farrell in episode 4.

Your spoiler comment cracked me up.  I can't wait to see how the writers work their way out of that situation.
