Funny, I've felt "old" all my life. I was always late with everything: first date, boyfriend, marriage, first baby, going back to school. Also, my mom had three sons and me, so we were close, and she confided in me with many problems. And she took my advice! I always felt I was the mother and she the daughter.
Plus the fact, I knew Moses when he was a baby and that always made me feel old!

I feel old because I shouldn't be having the health problems I've been having at my age.
I would expect to feel the way I do at 80, but I'm not even 40 yet.
Who the h*** wants to hear their cardiologist tell them to get a shower chair? My dad had one when he was nearing the end of his life. How am I supposed to feel about that?
So I guess this is where I am in life:

I was going to wear one of my Bauhaus t-shirts, but I didn't think it would go well with the slippers or the pearls. ![]()

For me it was this past year when I had to accept that roles in my family had changed; I am now moving into more of a caregiver role and no longer in the daughter role.
On the lighter side: I felt very old when my first AARP packet showed up in the mail. Gee whiz I am only 50 people.

I laughed when I got the AARP stuff at 50 too. I joined and then never renewed subsequently. Belonging didn't afford me any particularly advantageous goodies.

@catchersmom...it gets worse. I'm in my 60's and receive cremation/funeral/buriel info in the mail a couple times a week.

On and off I follow a blog called Times Goes By. I'm not sure about linking to a blog here, but it should come up easily in a search. In her entry for today she talks about falls and references another post about being scared now around children who might knock her over.
After being a very healthy woman, she's battling a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

Fun post, gotta laugh! 😂💝
... you spend twice as much time to look 1/2 as good as before!
... your injuries happen twice as easily and heal twice as slowly!!
Yeah, that's the truth.
