Maybe we should all enlist in the military since fighting seems to be our forte. Now if we could just get through basic training.

I disagree with your faulty premise.
A fact should be something that can be proven. It is not opinion. But if someone doesn't understand the difference, there's no use taking it any further.
The issue from which this discussion is believed to have stemmed was very clear about the facts involved. It became a problem when a few other facts which were not disputed were brought out, which makes your point moot.
This is the exact kind of "schooling" that is so disruptive in a conversation.
With all due respect, I suggest you reconsider the tone of what you've typed before clicking "post."

Take facebook for example, the meme's and other other stuff are posted not to persuade anyone but to annoy those who believe differently.
That gave me a good laugh! I'm not on Facebook, but I definitely do that elsewhere when discussing politics.

I have finally gotten to the point that I have realized there are certain posters who are negative and argumentative most of the time, they aren't going to change, so I am now avoiding threads where I see them posting. It's just not worth the aggravation to me.
I think you are a very astute woman. Sometimes, people just post to unload their troubles and transfer their negativity and aggression to these forums. After awhile, I can spot them and I tend to just hope their life improves but I avoid them now at all costs.

@IamMrsG, I have an off topic curiosity question. I've noticed that often when you quote a post the name of the poster you are quoting has been removed. If you don't mind sharing why do you remove the poster's name?

@Trinity11....thank you, but I think you are much too kind. I have done my share of unloading, but have been working on not doing that so much anymore. You have to be so careful what you say on these forums and comments are misunderstood and taken the wrong way.

@Marp To my knowledge this is the first time the name has been removed from someone I've quoted. I did it deliberately this time because my intent was to shine light on the attitude, not the poster.
Other times when I quote, I will delete the part that is superfluous to the point I wish to make. I do this because I find interminably long strings of quotes difficult to follow.
Do you find this practice troublesome?

Well, any time I see your nic, I am always interested in reading what you have to say. I think you are being too hard on yourself. I find your posts both interesting and thoughtful.

Edited to say, I know I can be off the rails at times, but I say it like I see it.
