our on-line conversations are ended when someone/s interjects a dose of reality and lots of facts?
For 3 hours nasty posts stood about a certain celebrity. Add in some facts and a dose of reality and the convo becomes off-topic. And political. Is civil rights "political"?
I think the button pushers who can't stand to be schooled rule the roost. Just sayin.

Conversations are allowed. Contraversary and politcal are not. Restarting a thread is not.
Wish we could debate/discuss/whatever, but this is not the place where that will happen. Tiss what it is.

For the most part I believe posters are pretty much set in their ways and hold fast to their beliefs, not really caring or reading another's point of view.
Take facebook for example, the meme's and other other stuff are posted not to persuade anyone but to annoy those who believe differently.

I can understand inappropriate posts to an extent. It shouldn't be a forum for religious or political themes because inevitably that will lead to nastiness and remarks which my offend or hurt.
My only issue with deleting posts which are labeled inappropriate is who is the judge of what is and is not appropriate? Are there certain rules in place that have to be followed?
Perhaps the person or person who censors could explain the criteria the Q goes by on the forums.
Thank you.

Many posts on here lead to controversy and they have nothing to do with religion or politics.
I agree with the OP, numerous people hit report when facts come out.

I believe it is left to the moderators' interpretation and discretion.

Let me put it another way...
There is quite frequently an elephant in the middle of the room.
Some become very upset if anyone points it out.

@Maudelynn Instead of it being a case of some people who "can't stand to be schooled," maybe some people can't stand the schoolers. ![]()

I'm convinced a convo will stand for hours and hours (inclusive of nasty remarks) until someone alerts the mod. It appears when misleading info is debunked, however, immediately the mods are alerted and need to come in to clean up.
I wouldn't want their jobs.
Not a restart of an old thread. Just a question, which I know has been asked before. Kind of like What's the Meaning Behind Your Nic.![]()

The thing about the elephant is okay...it's when he starts puuping that's makes things stink.
