One year for my birthday, a friend gave me a basket with a dozen apples in it. All were a different variety. As it was past fall apple season, I decided my favorites were Pink Lady and Fuji. In the fall I like them all but am particularly fond of Winesap. I like Honeycrisp but do not find they are worth their high price. As long as an apple is crisp, not mealy or mushy, I'll take it.

Thats a neat gift Lulu, I like that idea.

I am like you, I really do like all apples with a couple favorites, but as long as they are not mealy or mushy I wil eat any variety...

I am so in love with Ambrosia........I tried this for the first time this week. I have never sen them before and they are somewhat sweet with a hint of honey taste.

Re: What is your favorite apple?

When I lived in NY, I would have said MacIntosh. However, they DO NOT travel well, and now that I live in Los Angeles, they always appear in the produce department mushy and wish brown spots. Macs DO NOT travel well!

Now, my favorite apple is Honeycrisp, which is an AMAZING HYBRID. In a pinch, I'll take a Fuji.

A good Braeburn is like a crispy juicy cross between an apple & a pear, but it has to be the right season for them.

Re: What is your favorite apple?

I think the only ones I've ever bought are Red Delicious and Granny Smith. Granny Smith for baking and Red Delicious for eating (and whatever you have on hand for sangria).

Re: What is your favorite apple?

Golden Delicious and Gala. There are a bunch of apple varieties I've never tried, but would love to, if I had access to them. Ambrosia sounds great, R&R!

(BTW, I left you a message this morning under your Shark Vacuum thread. Hoping you're feeling better. Have a great week!)
