Yep, probably even in a warehouse freezer near you! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

LOL! I was thinking more like Apple-tinis, but the colder the better! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Red delicious

No offense John to your apple selection, but I have always found the Red Delicious rather bland... they are like the apple you need to "dress up"... awesome with some peanut butter on it, or dipped in caramel sauce... but to just eat alone, not so much for me. I guess I like my apples more feisty Smile

FYI...........it's not apple season.

Oh don't be a wet blanket... apples are like happy hour... it's always apple season somewhere! Smile

That's true, at least around here. I like Granny Smith's, always crunchy. And Pink Lady. I'm not that picky about apples, as long as they're not mushy.

Re: What is your favorite apple?

Sorry, Jules, but until you've gone out and picked a Yakima Valley (Washington) Red Delicious off the tree and eaten it right then and there, you haven't really had a Red Delicious. It's a classic for a reason! Smiley Happy

Re: What is your favorite apple?

We had a store here that had them for 69 cents a pound. Every variety...they were crisp and delicious like they were just picked.

The Courtlands were especially good. I got a couple of each variety to try them at that price...it was great.

Re: What is your favorite apple?

One year for my birthday, a friend gave me a basket with a dozen apples in it. All were a different variety. As it was past fall apple season, I decided my favorites were Pink Lady and Fuji. In the fall I like them all but am particularly fond of Winesap. I like Honeycrisp but do not find they are worth their high price. As long as an apple is crisp, not mealy or mushy, I'll take it.

Is that a formal invitation? I know the Red Delicious we get here in our grocery store are not that spectacular, and I feel sad for them... they once had potential. I would happily come visit Washington for a good Red Delicious, and then go to Oregon for the Kite festival!!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Re: What is your favorite apple?

John's probably partial to Red Delicious because he grew up with them. Back in the 50s there were four, maybe five apple choices and one was for baking.

I remember Macs, Delicious and those big green baking apples. My sister and I tried to eat one of those green apples. Talk about, hard and sour.
