Well this a FIRST! UPS & Amazon

I am staying with a friend and we ordered a few things for her from Amazon expected delivery today.

Sitting watching tv today we see the UPS truck pull up.  She says "oh maybe that's my Amazon things" and QVC packages -- get them please.  Just as I was opening the door I heard this loud thud.  Holy crow this driver threw the boxes from the curb over her small fence enclosure onto patio.  (it doesn't have gate nor any animals).

He hopped back in truck to fast to say something.  I've always had great service with UPS delivery drivers & must say this was shocking!

I'm sorry that you experiened that, but the drivers are timed on their deliveries, and their bosses want them to make more deliveries today, than they did yesterday, and to do them even faster tomarrow.

@homedecor1.  I'd call the local UPS terminal and report him.  Presumably the packages didn't contain fragile things, but what if they had?  I've received too many broken Amazon purchases.

The items were non breakable.  But, honestly her mailperson is worse...last trip home I had QVC order delivered here -- it sat on porch for 4 days in rainy weather -- I kept waiting for it to be delivered and placed in the large mailbox area never thought it was sitting on porch🤔.

She doesn't get much but I'm sure if there is a next time she will call them.

Yikes!  I'm spoiled both my UPS and mailperson always ring doorbell (sometimes I wish they wouldn't cuz that's about the only thing my spouse hears😳🙄🤷‍♀️) and puts at front door!

This isn't shocking to me & depending on the driver my packages are...walked halfway up & tossed on the front porch or against the garage door, thrown from the truck halfway up the driveway or they're delivered to the house that's 2 doors down with a similar address. Only one driver that's an older man does it right, he walks them up, places them on my front porch & rings the doorbell...if I'm home I always try to catch his attention by waving to say Thank You. The older man use to be the only driver that delivered to my home but not anymore...darn.

Unfortunately the closer we get to the holidays the more temporary workers are hired.

Many of them do not really know the homes or the routes and are just part-time.

I try to finish my home delivery shopping early before the holidays to avoid poor service and porch pirates.

I've  never had a delivery person throw a package.  I have a wicker chair in my covered entrance and everybody sets the packages on the chair.

@kitcat51

Just wait until the drones deliver them.  They may be dropped from the sky.

Re: Well this a FIRST! UPS & Amazon

I personally don't think that any of the delivery services care about how they hand their packages over to us now.

We mostly experience what I call the "drop, kick, and run" delivery experiences. Smiley LOL

We had a package delivered last week that was one of those deliveries that started out as a UPS-type of delivery, and then it was switched over to the Post Office for completion of the delivery.

I was in our living room in our aparment when the cat and I both heard a large slam against our front apartment door.

Our package was slammed and tossed up against the front door by the delivery person.

It didn't contain anything made out of glass, fortunately.

Otherwise, I'm thinking that something could have been broken with the way that the box was treated. Smiley Sad
