Walking behind a row of cars in a parking lot

Just something I have noticed recently and was wondering if anyone else was having the same experience. When I walk behind a row of parked cars and I notice one that has it's brake lights on or has started to back put of a space I always stop and either wait until the car has backed out or until,the driver gives me some sort of a hand signal to indicate that I can continue to walk behind the car. I would never assume that the driver has seen me. More and more I am noticing that people just continue to walk behind cars without even pausing to ensure the driver has seen them before proceeding. has anyone else noticed this?

They walk(or saunter) behind, in front because it's THEIR parking lot and no one else exists.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

They're just 'starring in their own movie"". We're just stupid extras that don't matter....until someone runs them over.

You pause for every car you walk by {#emotions_dlg.scared}

No, I admit I don't do that.

Some are yakking on their cellphones (walkers and drivers).

I agree with you. I did purchase for our cars the extra little mirrors to see further to each side, but some people still don't see that well. There's defensive driving, that should go hand in hand w/defensive walking. My FIL was knocked down once by a lady who was very short and just didn't see them walking. Broke his hip. After that he walked with a limp. So...prevention is always good!

Yep, it's that entitlement thinking coming out. They walk across the street without looking first, also. Stupid people!

I always stop if I see a car about to back up. I never assume they see me.

I notice some people don't always look, but people are easily distracted in a parking lot. It's important to always pay attention.

That is NOT what she said.

I always pay attention to the cars in the parking lot. I make sure no one is backing up. That's just one of those common sense things to me.
