Are other people getting these types of messages from their post offices?  Do they have the option of not accepting a package?  It's not like it was applying to join an elite sorority or exclusive condo.

One week my PO was delivering usually the day after they got the package and the next week they started this nonsense.  What changed?  Did all the employees quit? Or is it a deliberate slow-down by USPS management?

Several other posters have complained about this.  I don't use the notification, and I just assume all my packages will eventually arrive.

My understanding of this message is that it is due to the level of service that QVC uses USPS for.  Apparently packages arrive en masse, with an inventory list, so this means this package was in an inventory list but no one has actually scanned the package for delivery yet.

The level of service that QVC uses means that our packages are only delivered after all items with guaranteed delivery dates are delivered first.  So the QVC package may be bumped for a later day, and from day to day.  Hopefully one  day they will deliver yours.  You may or may not get a message that it was scanned before delivery.

In addition, as part of a 10 year Delivery for America plan, USPS imposed new service standards as of Oct. 1, 2021, that gives it more time to deliver packages.  They claim it will save money.

The thread is titled USPS; why in the world did you read it... blah, blah, blah?

@Kachina624  you know how it is. I avoid some Threads because I don't like the Title, but what can I say? Some people just can't resist.

I must say that I haven't had a problem with the USPS in my area. Yes Snellville Ga. (See I said it). I track my packages until it says delivered . If I don't see it, I call and I must say in no time at all, I get my package. GPS tells them exactly where to find it.

I have a package from ShopHQ that is sitting at the post office since 10/6 waiting for acceptance by the PO.

@Kachina624   I have had that a few times.   USPS is getting ridiculous.  I mailed my son a Birthday Crad a week ago and he still has not received it.  From Florida To Florida.   Christmas is going to be a nightmare

And yet the president just met with Walmart, FedEx, and UPS and they've all agreed to step up their plans to get packages moving and yet the post office is a government entity in the business of moving packages and they are the worst.

@MG Chris    I think I'd be down there pounding on the counter.  You might try do a "missing package inquiry" on the USPS website.

I have not seen these messages from my local PO.  I do received message from UPS about delays.  I would think a working person would love to work for the PO.  Great benefits and holidays and the pay is not bad for starting.

@Kachina624 , I'm with you. I've not used USPS for my bills/payments for years. I do, however, still get mail from companies re: new credit cards "they" want me to have, Medicare-type mail tht looks like it's from them but not, subscriptions, etc., and packages from QVC that will fit into the box. All these mailings still allow people to steal your ID. People who steal IDs need to find something more productive, that's for sure!

@Kachina624 Kachina....last winter my UPS driver told me that packages tagged for transport to the U.S.P were sitting in the UPS wearhouse waiting to be transfered  to the post office.  So whomever is delaying, there may be many suspects involved.  The product sits at UPS and then is delivered to USP office where it sits as well. Last winter people were confined to home so  on-line orders increased causing the delays.  Don't know what the problem is today.  Perhaps it is lack of employees to do the work once packages arrive.  I have not ordered anything lately so I have not had the opportunity to speak with my UPS driver.
