Are other people getting these types of messages from their post offices?  Do they have the option of not accepting a package?  It's not like it was applying to join an elite sorority or exclusive condo.

One week my PO was delivering usually the day after they got the package and the next week they started this nonsense.  What changed?  Did all the employees quit? Or is it a deliberate slow-down by USPS management?

Sounds like another service delivered the package for the final distance to the post office. If that's the case, there could be a delay of several days before it's actually delivered.

@SharkE Well, why bother?  It is annoying to have to get up and get more or less dressed and go have people tell you what to do.

I get these notices from time to time, and as perplexed as you by what is going on.  I think the USPS is clueless as well.

No matter who ships it the delays are inevitable.  I'm still waiting  on a package from Ohio. It went right past my house to Kentucky.

I received notifications like like this late last fall.

I believe it was you who posted it here, but do you remember the photo of carts and carts overflowing with packages sitting in Post Offices waiting to be processed?

That's when I got these notifications.

@Kachina624 i have a package that was shipped via UPS, then turned over to USPS that has been sitting in my local post office since 10/5. I have tried calling about this and no one is answering their phone. I can't get to the PO during the week during their business hours, so I am going to attempt to get in there tomorrow to see what is going on. (long story, but in my town there is a parking issue with the PO and the PO employees use the customer lot, so there is usually no place to park). Hopefully if I get there when they open I can find a place to park. I am so frustrated as the reason I ordered (not a QVC order) the item I am waiting for is that they indicated that shipping would be via UPS. Their website never indicated that they might use UPS to USPS to ship.. UGH.

With me it was totally different. UPS was supposed to drop off my package at USPS today. Instead I got a message from UPS saying that they will be in my area and would deliver the package instead. I got it this morning.

@Foxxee    Yes, I posted the picture of the piles of packages in carts last winter and I expect we'll see the same thing this year.  Nothing has happened to improve the situation.

I'm getting these messages with every package.  They get to my local PO then they decide if they're going to accept them.  The one I illustrated has been sitting there 4 days.  Time for an email to my U. S. Representative.
