Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

Bobbisue,

I'm here, I hope your feeling better. I just feel like I sit here and talk to myself because nobody has been posting. The 'views' go up daily so somebody is reading it. I just wish those that are reading would just say yes or no if they want me to continue it.

Take care.

Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

I think I may have intruded on a thread that clearly had posters well grounded in their friendship. Sorry.

Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

Bobbisue,
Oh my dear sweet Bobbisue where did you get the idea you were intruding? You are ALWAYS welcome here, your probably one of the kindest people on these boards. You are NOT intruding. Also your a former nurse, 2 of my 5 DIL's (5 of the sweetest people I know) are nurses so there's another feather in your cap. LOL I think that should have read daughters-in-law instead of DIL's if I were to be proper but I'm not so that will have to do.
As far as grounded friendships go some of those that use to post here were on Gamers and Doxie and Friends back about 2006, but of course nobody has been posting here lately but me, you and MoonDance.
I know Fallen Angel was thinking seriously about selling her home and moving so she MAY have, I haven't heard from her in a while. She bought a new computer but loaned it out so that person could set it up for her because that person needed to borrow a computer for a while. I don't know anymore than when I posted the last time I heard from her. Shosh, prisrob, and gigi, no idea what they are into these days.
I did hear from Retired Banker today and her daughter was doing better, then got worse and they found out she was allergic to some med's they gave her. Bless her heart she can't win for losing, but at least she's home and mending.
MoonDance the dog waving "Hi" is cute, have you gotten another dog or is this a picture you found online?
We've had a lazy rain here tonight, nothing severe yet, a possibility of tornadoes and etc. are suppose to happen tomorrow and Tuesday. I hope everyone in the path of this destruction will take precautions and stay safe.
My son just called and told me this, I think he heard on the radio today.
There was a man sitting in a hotel lobby crying and everyone was asking him what was wrong, he kept saying "I'm fine". A lady walked up and said "Honey why are you crying, this is our 50th Wedding Anniversary you should be happy. " He said sobbing "Do you remember your dad telling me 50 years ago if I didn't marry you he would have me put in jail? " She said "yes", he said "I would have gotten out today." LOL (it's old but still funny)
Once again Bobbisue, post here anytime you know your always welcome.
Take care.

Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

Hi Lakk...no,no dog.I was just waving hi to Bobbisue.I can never replace Clarence,but we did get a cat,last June.

After losing our cockatiel,Chickabee,in '10 and Clarence in '11,there was no way I could have gotten another bird or dog.They were and still are my babies.

Mickey,my cat,has brought so much joy back into my life.He'll never replace my babies,but he filled an emptiness in my life.He has such a wonderful personality and spirit.My granddaughter calls him Schoolhouse...BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHY!!!{#emotions_dlg.lol}

This joke totally cracked me up!

Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

hello ladies Kiss

lakk

wasn't me playing bingo, i haven't ever been to a game site, all i need is another reason to sit here longer than i already do.

i understand what you mean about talking to yourself, when others aren't posting.

i do read everyday, and actually talk back to you, wish i could post regularly, i would enjoy that. my dh will appreciate that joke, maybe a little too much- we have been married a very long time.

hoping that banker's dd continues to improve- and that angel, prisrob and gigi are well.{#emotions_dlg.sleep}

hello barb and moonie Smile

spring has finally sprung , the tree pollen is awful, but the blooms are gonna be wonderful - if the heavy rain coming this week doesn't knock them off, think it is part of that awful system of tornadoes folks are suffering through.

finally got most of my little family here on easter weekend, tho mom was ill and missed it. dgs was splendid again, for the first time he got to run amok in our big backyard. his thrill was finding a giant stick and waving it around, for a really long time - doesn't take much to amuse him. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

take good care of yourselves.......Cool

Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

Hi Ladies- Here I am! Have been volunteering a lot, so have not posted, but I promise to start posting again regularly. I read over the past page, and see that BobbieSue and Lakk have kept the place going. BobbieSue, your presence is most welcome. You bring a lot of sunshine and warm feelings. Lakk seems like your life is full. Keeping up with a house seems like a full time job, so much to do, always. I am so sorry to hear about banker's daughter. I certainly send my best to both of them. It seems like there is always something. So good to hear from Shosh. Allergies are bothering me, too. But, we have sun and the snow is gone. I am keeping my eye on the tornados in the south, please stay safe, everyone. Looked over the forum, what a bunch of Disgruntled people . My goodness , what miserable lives some people have. Have to rush, get some lunch and off to work in the children's museum this afternoon. What fun it is! Take care, everyone.

Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

Bobbisue, MoonDance, Shosh and Prisrob good to see all you ladies. I will be back later, as you know 99% of America has back problems. Mine has been bad the last few days, on pain med's and frankly my dear I can't pat my fanny with both hands. Will write later when I'm back in the real world. Take care.

Re: Twilight Time (formerly Any retirees...)

I think I'll try this now that my brain has returned, I take so little med's and can only take half of anything prescribed for pain because it knocks me for a loop.

Bobbisue,

Don't be a stranger, your always welcome here.

MoonDance

I'm glad you got a cat, Mickey, I'm still going to get one, I've been talking about it for the last 9 years. Dh hated them but I always had one growing up and love them. Your DGD calling the cat Schoolhouse is funny. Bless her heart.

Shosh,

I understand about your Dh enjoying that joke too much. LOL

The weather here has spared me once again, the only thing noticeable was all the leaves blew off the beautiful white dogwood visible from my kitchen window. That's about par for the course anyway, the blooms don't last very long. I have a few yellow Iris blooming and a few have blown over, I'm blessed, no complaints all the storms have passed and I slept through most of it. The rain has greened up the yard, it's beautiful but needs mowing, my DGS will tend to that this week when everything dries out.

That's cute about your DGS entertaining himself with the stick. I remember playing Jacks with my cousins and my brother, we were happy pretending to cook with dirt/mud and a stick for a spoon. We played hop scotch and made race tracks in the dirt playing with toy cars, played tag and cowboys and Indians with my brother and he would let us win. We waited on him to let us have a turn on his bike. He would slow down and act like he was going to let us ride then speed up going ninety miles an hour and just laughing up a storm. He was a skinny little kid but dearly loved us as we adored him and he would have taken on Hulk Hogan for us. He was a sweetheart and I will always miss him. (1940-2004) Lost him to cancer.

Prisrob,

I'm sorry you have the allergies, my SIL use to suffer so much with hers, we were always warned not to wear perfume around her at family gatherings and she couldn't spend much time outside. So happy the snow is gone and you can enjoy getting out. You are so good to volunteer, we all need to follow your lead. I have nothing but time now and make all kinds of excuses for not doing things.

I'm going to end this and list some things on another post that I have bought recently and recommend and some I don't. I bragged about not buying but one thing from Q in Feb. but have blown that to bits in April. LOL

Take care.
