Sorry my phone got away from me. I was saying exiting the plane with Beatlemania (which my phone didn't want to spell) in full force.
They came to appear on the Ed Sullivan show.
So who else remembers this day firsthand as I do?

I still have my vinyl Beatle albums.

I'd wear them out and have to buy replacements.

What's more, someone played the opening piano bit from Hey Bulldog on the radio the other day (as bumper music), and I thought of you.

I do remember. What a show.  The Best of Ed Sullivan is on Decades TV from 6 p.m. to 7p.m. E.T. M-F and that show pops up every once in awhile. In fact, tonight's 6 p.m. show is supposed to have The Brooklyn Bridge and Stevie Wonder on and the 6:30 p.m. show is supposed to have Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.

When you hear just those simple opening notes being pounded out on the piano and you know what's coming, and it makes you smile and you know others would smile at those deceptively simple notes too.

I remember like it was yesterday. Love the Beatles. I still have my original albums. They were the first ones I felt were worthy of the investment of my hard earned pennies.

The Beatles weren't my very favorite band, but I was just the right age to be very excited seeing them on Sullivan's show.
