@shoesnbags-- I miss the New Orleans azaleas. Would love to take a streetcar ride down St. Charles and see!

March is a weird transitional month here in New Jersey. You often start out the month with snow shovels and end it mowing the grass. You never know what you'll get in March. From the middle of March on the risk of big snowstorms pretty much fades away. Even if it does snow after that the snow melts so fast you don't really have to worry about it.
March also seems to be the month when the calendar kicks back into high gear and time starts moving quicker. The December, January, February span, that seems to drag on forever, is behind us and before you know it it'll be Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and then Labor day. At least to me, those three months (December, January, February) seem to take as long as the other nine months combined. Christmas now feels like it was six months ago instead of a little over two months ago.
Days are now very noticeably longer. The sun has more warmth. Life is returning to the garden. We're entering my favorite time of the year. I love the springtime. Instead of racing from the car to the house, I now meander around the yard more to see what's coming up, what plants have had a hard winter. I see new growth here, there and everywhere. Garden cleanup I put off in the fall can be put off no longer. March is the beginning of my favorite time of the year.
