Why all the mystery? There are some not-so-nice people on this board who are borderline (and some not-so-borderline) stalkers. I'm guessing that's why. I imagine almost all of you looking positively fabulous.
That's exactly the reason. It's not hard these days to use something like a photo to locate someone's actual identity on the internet. We've all discussed this before. There are stalkers, there are people who compile information about posters (I've seen one poster say she keeps a notebook on posters and the personal info they provide over time). Look at the number of guests online who read. Consider the harassment and personal attacks on threads here, and decide if you want that person finding you in real life. And stalking is not funny. In addition, I suppose it's close to a violation of the QVC standards: "Do not post any personally identifiable information," since photos are easily used to find people with today's technology.
Which is exactly why I am too chicken to post my picture here.
I know that I would get cruel taunts.
It's a dangerous, slippery slope no matter what we look like, Plaid Pants.
It's not just about whether we're attractive or not. The anonymous internet isn't all unicorns and rainbows, as much as I hate to say so. There are some scary people out there. I wouldn't dare post photos of myself or any of my loved ones, but part of that is because I've seen someone go through the absolute horror of being identified, tracked down, and stalked. If people are forewarned and educated about it, and still choose to take the risk... well, of course more power to 'em.

Gustav Klimt, my favorite artist. I have seven of his prints.Oh, he was one of my DH's favorites, too, Ford. He bought a lovely silk scarf for me, depicting "The Kiss," and had it framed. So pretty.
Oh wow, I envy you!! Imagine a man appreciating this wonderful (if controversial) artist. You are lucky indeed. I have the full version of "The Tree of Life" over my love seat in the living room.
It's a beautiful scarf, the full-length version. Yes, I was very, very blessed to have him in my life.

Exactly, and I understand that, which is why I would never post a pic of myself.

REALLY......I was only kidding about having a picture of me taken and getting it posted on here for my 75th birthday. Lord knows, I've had enough trouble on these boards, and don't need any more.

Hey, I have my 75th coming up in the near future.....maybe I should get a picture taken on that day and get my friend to post it on here for me. I'll warn you, I don't look as good as you do though. But, remember, the pictures of my little Mr. Lucky are real, and he is all mine.....
I would love to see that. But please take dooBdoo's (and some others) warnings into consideration. They feel it's very dangerous.
I don't see the difference between people posting photos here when millions post photos and much more on their Facebook and other social media all the time.

I only recall seeing a personal pic of a couple people who chose to post it here.

Today's world is so darn scary.......and it is not a good idea to post any pictures of yourselves on here. We don't know who is looking and what they could do to us.
