Simple solution:

Community Menu--all virus discussions

Among Friends---no virus discussions

Why ask QVC to create a new forum? Why can't we just do the above?

Part of the issue is that related threads aren't found in any single forum. They're all over the place. Though many of them are in 'community chat' they aren't there exclusively and other non-related threads that some might enjoy also appear in 'community chat'. By having a single forum for ALL of them, those who want to read and participate know exactly where to go and those who don't know exactly where to avoid. Times are tough, I guess I don't personally think asking QVC to create a single, hopefully time-limited, new category under these circumstances is asking a great deal.

@stevieb

If posters wish to discuss other things they why don't they just do so?  If they have things they want to talk about they could push other discussions out of the way.

Obviously, the most discussion is around the COVID-19 virus because there is great interest in it.  I think this has been said over and over again.

If there is interest in havving discussions about something else, then we should see it by posters posting about themt.

I don't care one way or the other if all "virus" talk is on one thread, but others may feel differently.  The same argument was had about the Royals.  I don't think that one was ever settled, was it?  I didn't care whether all of those were consolidated either.

@QueenDanceALot  We both know there's never going to be agreement about much of anything on these (or any other) boards. As human beings, I suppose we're predisposed to see things our own way. QVC will end up doing what they choose to do and my guess is that will be to do nothing. If that's the case, those of us who want minimal exposure to certain threads will either find ways to better avoid them or will minimize our use of the QVC site. I do, however, think the moderators run a certain risk should they allow these boards to become little more than 'virus central'... As for the royal threads, I never felt they warranted their own forum. There might have been quite a few of them but they were never as constant and pervasive as those related to the current situation. Probably because they simply weren't about something as important to virtually everyone. That said, important though the subject might be, not everyone will choose to be steeped in it. While I can't speak for others, that's really all I'm saying.

All I can say is what I've already said.

If posters want to discuss other things they can post threads about them and by doing so minimize their "exposure" to threads they don't want to see.  Are they waiting for other posters to start threads they might be interested in?

It's sort of a "what the market will bear" situation.

QVC should not be expected to cater to the overly sensitive whiners by creating a forum to hide the current crisis.

"overly sensitive whiners"? Why? Because she doesn't share your opinion? She has every bit as much right to express her opinion and feelings on this board as do all of the folks here who are putting her down for it. Name calling is not only rude, but hurtful. I thought that name calling was against the board rules. If it isn't, it should be.

They need to have one place for virus posts and updates and not take over every other forum topic. I am in need of seeing and reading other topics, especially since many of us are cooped up inside right now.

We need diversions! I can only wipe down my house so many times...😬

Yes, @QueenDanceALot, I get it. You feel there's a demand or the subject would abate and that those wanting to post other topics need only do so... Again, I get it... I think we've both been very clear to the point where we understand each other and can now simply agree to disagree on how this should play out. What the market will bear is pretty clearly relative. There is a cadre of posters who are invested in the discussion and there is also one that would like to see it tempered or isolated in some fashion. The points of view are only mutually exclusive if one chooses to see them as such... I'd suggest we've both said what we felt we needed to say and leave it at that...

@cody2  I called no one names; I merely classified those who are overly sensitive and are complaining/whining about the virus posts. I believe QVC, like other corporations, have enough to manage without making new forums. This pandemic is surely the most important issue worldwide and those wishing to discuss it shouldn't be disparaged from doing so.
