I am retired and make under the $75,000 limit. I'm thinking I may give my nephew some or all of this $$$ as he lives in NYC and has lost work because of this. Rent is so high and I think at this point in time he can use it more than I.
I've been hit hard in my IRA but I am not drawing on it. I still have some years to go and would like to leave as much of that to my nephew as well.
I heard that if the IRS has your direct deposit info it will just be automatically deposited much sooner than waiting for a check in the mail.
I also think our government is trying to do their best with all this and maybe with a bit of luck things won't be so bi-partisan in the future. Too bad Cuomo wasn't in the running for a Democratic candidate this year, he's becoming quite the one to watch.

That is what I am hearing too. To me that means folks who are on SS, SSI, SSDI who do not file taxes will not get any $$$.
I think I did hear, that folks who receive SNAP will get a temporary increase in their benefits.
I guess we will find out sometime this a.m.
People will have to file a tax return to get this benefit check, otherwise you will not receive one.
What if you filed in 2019 for 2018 but have not filed yet for 2019. Do we have to rush and file?
One of the congress I think Katie Porter who was quarantined at home
waiting for tests results was asked the question what about people receiving SS and do not file and do not have direct deposit.
She said they are also working on provisions for those people as well
though it would take much longer as they haven't been worked out yet.
That seems fair because these are the people who probably need it a lot!
There is also much confusion here re SS and having to pay or even file taxes.
I think people are taking their own circumstances and think that holds for all. @beatlefan, @CelticCrafter, and others
as many have pointed out here
paying taxes, and having to file at all is based on income or how much you are receiving each year from SS or any other income.
If it is below a certain amount, you do not have to file and you do not have to pay federal taxes.
Anyone can see this information on the IRS website or just searching the question.
Taxes can be very complicated even for the simplest circumstances and
everyones situation is different and may have different answers.

Well, where else could it come from?

What a stressful week this is turning into. The virus is bad enough but the arguments over this bill is enough to make people go nuts!

@JaneMarple On top of this, most of us are not used to being confined at home with our children and significant other. It is necessary, but I don't know if my headache is from them, allergies or something else. It is likely that this will continue at least for a couple of months in many states including mine, so I need to get used to it!

With the Stimulus sounds like he will get his full pay for 4 months. After that it will depend on how much his unemployment pays. Plus they add $600 to that but not sure how long. You might want to talk to him about it in case you might need it.

Yes I have 3 bags so should last a while. I also bought some dried black elderberries to make some syrup with. Have not got around to that yet. Don't know which recipe to use or if there's a certain type pan I need to use.
I have some of the syrup on auto delivery that shows Apr 7th but the capsules now say they are trying to get stock so I most likely won't get those.
