i stil dont know why any single person making 80 or 90 thousand a year needs a hardship check. This money should be ear marked for those who lost jobs or make under 25,000

It's $75k and below @Reever . It really depends on where they live and what their expenses are, don't be so quick to judge.

My opinion is there is a dispartity in how much we help the wealthy/big busineses compared to those who are low income workers in this country.  We bail out  the big business to the tune of billions but the peiple most affected by this crisis are our restaurant workers, retail sectors etc who were only making 25,000 to begin with. Makes NO SENSE

I hear that some Senators are concerned that those of us who can't work now because our businesses are closed will be getting too much money from the "stimulus" package.

Yeah because you may not want to go back to work after raking in the big bucks. Woman Surprised

I think it said for working families. As a retiree, my income hasn’t changed. If I do get a check, I’ll send it to a hospital in my community.

If people, get too much, they will stay home rather than work. This is true so I agree with those senators who want the language revised and protective measures. I was a nurse for a large NYC Fortune 100.....my former company employed 9000 people; they also gave back to communities. Why shouldn’t they get funds for loses

@Stray

Excuse me, but I work 6 days a week, am an independent contractor,  and am self supporting. I have no income right now as the facility I worked out of had to close because of the virus.  The money they're talking about wouldn't support me so I wouldn't be staying home rather than working.

Why would retired people get a check?  How have we been affected by loss of anything.

Shoekitty said.. I think retired people have been hit hard.  401k, IRA's, all lost something.  Retired people don't have long to make it all up either.  I haven't got 20 years to get it all back and enjoy it.  By then it will go to kids.  LOL  Not only have my investment accts.  been hit big time, interest at the bank is nothing anymore.  Many people get monthly interest income on larger accts.  and CD's.  Not too mention they took a few hundred dollars from my SS check for Medicare.  I also pay 2000 a year for supplement.  My Medicare is higher than private insurance when I was working.

also, I don't know about other people here but my adult kids and grandkids have lost jobs, pay reduction, etc.  That's means I will need to help them,later on as their savings goes.  My adult grandkids are left without jobs for a while.

this economy effects everyone.

I agree with you.  Just not sure this is the place to get it,
