And for everyone asking why they throw butts out the window when was the last time you saw a car with an ashtray????

I'm not really sure how you would put it out anyplace else driving

Maybe ask a pothead -they smoke while driving too how do they save theirs??????????

So I gather you think that smokers should not be responsible for their refuse. Litter is litter. Perhaps smokers should carry ashtrays wherever they smoke. Like I mentioned earlier, it is disgusting to go to the beach when smokers consider all that sand to be their personal ashtray. If smokers wish to gain any respect, I think they should take some personal responsibility for their habit.

Seriously, smokers just think, "oh, ******, I have nowhere to throw my butt?  Guess I'll just throw it out the window then".

That just goes in the 'inconsiderate', 'rude', and 'disgusting' pile.

Guess you can say the same thing about those fast food bags and beer cans along side the road.  Who wants trash in the car.

Sure, just toss it out the window!

Didn't say it was right but be an equal opportunity criticizer.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

I find smokers to be less uptight and just basically nicer to be around.  Many smoke as a way to battle anxiety and stress, much like people smoke pot to "chill" -- except that tobacco smoking is still legal.  Smoking used to be very relaxing until the socially acceptable police put a stop to that.  Why is smoking pot considered therapeutical but other ways of smoking aren't?  When did a legal pastime become bad and an illegal pastime become good?

Cars are also not equipped with trash cans.

That's no excuse for throwing trash out the window.

People generating trash including ciggy butts are responsible for appropriate disposal of the trash.

Throwing it out the car window is irresponsible.

One can place junk food bags on the floor and dispose of them later. Cigarettes are burning with no place in a car to extinguish them. Putting one on the floor in a car would hardly be prudent.

How is throwing it out the window (still unextinguished) a prudent way to solve that problem?

Nonsense. That merely shifts the hazard from "my back yard" to the passing landscape.

Putting it on the floor to smolder in a car is irresponsible exactly as tossing it out the window to smolder - the person just endangered the great outdoors instead of their own car.

If a person CHOOSES to have flammable objects in their car they also should choose to have the proper way to dispose of them.

For the record, my father died of cirrohsis of the liver from drinking.

And both of my parents died from diseases brought on by their cigarette smoking.

@QueenDanceALot

Wow. Both parents.  That's a lot for a kid to take in.

So sorry to hear...you have my condolences.

Throwing something out your window so you damage public property instead of your own private property is actually the greater of two evils.
