My DH printed copies of the tracking and wrote on them "Where the heck did you deliver these?" and put them in our postbox for the mailman.

How mature of him...

I think it is quite clear and to the point. No room for confusion. If they still don't show up tomorrow we will go to the postmaster. But if it was just a mistake on his part it gives him a chance to correct it himself before we go to his superior.

Good luck with that strategy

I agree, @Bri36.   A sarcastic note to the carrier is likely to cause nothing but animosity.    I've never found that antagonizing the people who provide the service is the way to effect change and improvement.   (I hope the note isn't on the outside of the box for all to see.)

I was thinking the same thing. Plus, we should all keep in mind, it's the holiday season! Everything takes longer to be delivered this time of year.

The mailman that was there yesterday came to our house & told DH that the regular guy was off sick today & he has no idea where the packages may be. DH went to the PO - waited about 30 min in a huge line there. Spoke to the postmaster who searched around and found them in the PO.He tried to make excuses for the packages being scanned as delivered but , in fact brought back to the PO. DH said they were unacceptable and he actually agreed.

This does not excuse scanning it as delivered then not actually delivering it. They aren't supposed to scan it until they are about to place it in the mailbox.

Re: Shipping - again!

[ Edited ]

Mistakes get made.

I went to my mailbox (attached to my house) and there was a package in my mailbox from a company I knew I hadn't ordered from.  I looked at the addressee.  The street number was the same as mine but the street name was different.  The street is 2 streets behind me.

I know the mailman would have scanned that and it was marked as delivered, which it was, but not to the correct street.  When I was on my way back to work, I delivered it myself to the correct street.  Lucky I'm honest.  Not everyone is.
