Some people get a thrill out of scaring, demeaning, and belittling, people anonymously. Think about trolls that get on public forums and "hide" behind their computer. They will say anything to get negative attention.

Perhaps putting on a clown suit (or any costume or disguise) is one more step toward the thrill of almost getting caught? Yesterday when our local media had listed school districts that had been specifically threatened, I wondered if places like Party City were going to pull the clown suits off of the shelves.

Social media had a list of schools these supposed 'clowns' were going to show up at this week...local Police were notified.

My granddaughter(4) came home from school yesterday and wouldn't sleep in her bed because she thought the 'clowns' were coming to 'get people'. Her School was on the list and something must have been said to all the classes.

They had reports of a few people dressed as clowns jumping out at people stopped at red lights and stop signs last night.....

This isn't  funny anymore

What the heck?  Can't people think for themselves anymore?  There are always these silly, and sometimes damaging, trends that people go ballz out with, and no common sense at all.   Glad I'm not a 'follower' or a bandwagon jumper.  Smiley Happy

Someone's going to get shot and killed, and their parents/BFFs will then be wailing to the media about murdering poor defenseless unarmed pranksters. Yeah, riiiight...

IMO, anyone who does this, *no matter their age or motivation* should be prepared to die, because people are getting edgy. And friends/family should not be horrified, shocked, etc. when it happens. They are *asking* for it.

Re: Scary Clown Sightings

[ Edited ]

I just got notice from my daughter which she got through the school, that a threat was made to my 2 grandkids school district in PA for this Wednesday (along with other schools in the county) that 3 clowns will invade each school and threatened to harm kids.

As of now, their school did not say its closing but my daughter asked if i can watch the kids because she doesn't think shes sending them. My one granddaughter is arguing saying she has 2 quizzes and a presentation, she has to go to school. If they stay home I will (of course) watch them. And that is a one hour drive each way for my daughter to bring the kids.

This is getting ridiculous now and I don't know why they cant trace the ISP address and catch the sickos! Because these threats were made on social media!

Lastly, I said to my daughter long ago with all the stuff that goes on now days (besides this) If my kids were young yet, Id seriously home school them (and I am not big on home schooling b/c I think its important for kids to go to SCHOOL for many reasons.

Re: Scary Clown Sightings

We had clown gang threats at local schools here ...... and a group of  them were spotted around a local famous "haunted" sight....I guess they are targeting Halloween activities that will take place there....

@Mominohio I was thinking along the same lines.....how did we get from sweet clowns that made us laugh like Bozo on TV and in cartoons, funny ones in circuses and at children's hospitals, and parades, and have now morphed into these horrible evil scary beings ....the stars of horror movies....kinda sad.  But I admit because of today's culture I now think of them as creepy........

I think this scary clown fad as gone too far with people getting dressed up and going around scaring people......well someone is going to view it as a threat especially with all the shootings happenings in today's world...and what these people thought of as a prank will end up in a tragedy instead........and it will be their own making!

With all this going on you're an idiot to wear a clown suit for anything.  People have lost their minds ... why?  We've lost our way in this country.  Help going the wrong directions and freedom given to the wrong people.

Mental help is needed and forgotten.  Keeping predators in jail is not going to happen.  Abuse is rampent and a slap on the hand is all they get.

This has nothing to do with ... you know what.  It's a fact of where we have gotten to.

My sister was laughing at me after she hipped me to the local creepy clown at the carwash.  I told her, I swear to (you know who) if some clown rushes up on me, I will kick off my 4 inch camuto boots and beat the guy with the wooden heel.  I'll leave a red knot on his head to match his red nose.  She thought it was hysterical.  I wasn't kidding.
