I love CHEEZ-IT White Cheddar crackers. Usually get them at Walmart curbside. But lately sometimes they don't have them and they substitute with those 'Grooves' crackers...not liking those at all.

@SilleeMee I think Walmart pushes their brands on pickups and saves the most popoular brands for in-store.  I have seen this as time goes on.

Re: Saltines and Oyster Crackers

This thread made me smile.   I have been searching for oyster crackers this winter, making chili.

I was baffled as to why they are always out of them.   Now I know, it's not just here.  It's really weird what is not on shelves.  It's so random.

I haven't had issues buying saltines.  I only buy the Kroger (Fry's Food) brand and they have a lot on the shelf as of now.

I don't like saltines in my chili... something about oyster crackers that suits chili so well.  LOL.

Well, at least I know I'm not alone.

What a great substitute.   Never thought of them.  I always think of them being a cheese flavor, and that doesn't appeal to me.   I'll have to look for them next time I make chili.   Didn't know they made plain in the Goldfish brand.

Grocery shopping has become like a treasure hunt.

This week's invisible item was egg noodles.  Tried every local grocer and ended up finding a couple packages at the restaurant supply store across town.

YES! YES!

I have no egg noodles in my pantry. We went to the grocery today. And the shelves that normally have egg noodles were empty. There were no egg noodles. Not sure why.

i buy lots of oyster crackers between thanksgiving and superbowl to make a hidden valley rance oyster cracker snack recipe.

no problems finding saltines, but i am not addicted to any particular brand. usually buy nabisco. if one store does not have them then another store usually does.....or i can find them at sams club.

@just bee

And there are plenty of egg noodles here!  I just bought a bag yesterday and there was a good supply.  I have not had any problem buying them when needed.

Re: Saltines and Oyster Crackers

Same here, GA.  Stock runs real low and sometimes disappears for a while.  When it was last restocked, I picked up 2 bags of oyster crackers.  I was able to find the fat free 1/2 & 1/2 I like at Publix yesterday.  Only 3 on the shelf, I got 2.  This is the first time I find it in many months.  Many items such as cream cheese, milk(s), pillsbury items remain pretty empty.

Fat free half and half........  So funny you mention that.  I use the real half and half in my coffee each morning.  Recently I have told Mr4kitties that our coffee suddenly tastes terrible and I even tried two other brands, trying to find one I liked.

This morning I noticed I had accidently purchased and was using fat free half and half!  Big taste difference to me and I had a real half and half carton that I opened this morning!  Coffee mystery solved!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The ranch oyster crackers sound good. Now you all have me craving oyster crackers with a nice thick soup like chili or potato!

@northiie57  I love goldfish crackers, too. I prefer the whole grain--they taste just a little better to me--and buy them when available in the big boxes. I use them in place of chips with my lunch sandwich.
