Re: Saltines and Oyster Crackers

The thing I haven't been able to find is Kellogg's Raisin Bran.  Always got the large box at Costco but they haven't had it for a couple months. Neither has grocery store.  Finally broke down and went to Walmart and found a couple small boxes.

Re: Saltines and Oyster Crackers

I was in Target a month or so ago and looking for Saltines.  Half the aisle was empty.  The guy from Nabisco happened to be stocking the aisle and we started chatting and he told me their warehouse was empty.

My cracker of choice is Ritz and I havent had any trouble getting them.  Saltines always taste stale to me.

@4kitties  They are all available at Walmart online. I’m still not shopping in person but I’m getting them delivered and by pickup.

Re: Saltines and Oyster Crackers

So funny reading this  as  when the pandemic started  instead of going to my supermarket I started to use my local General Dollar store. I found instead of the known brand of saltines which they had ,but also had  store brand,so tried  a box my husband went through the boxes so fast, never did that with the N brand, he goes through a sleeve like it was a bag of chips,so I tried but  I add peanut butter or almond butter  or just crumble them into soup or even chilli.

I just saw the other day the store had many boxes of N brand and only 2 boxes of their own brand ,so the 2 boxes went into my cart.

Sometimes it pays to try store brands.

Re: Saltines and Oyster Crackers

I really learned about saltines when I was pregnant since I lived on them.  I think the best flavor by far are Zesta.

We only have a Sams here, so I don't know about the other brand mentioned.

To get good oyster crackers (our store brand was horrid), I had to order them through walmart (they didn't carry them locally).

Re: Saltines and Oyster Crackers

Well I guess now I know I am not alone and it is a widespread problem.

I will have to keep an eye out for them and buy a box or bag when I see them!
