If you want to get further disturbed about what is in our food supply, do an internet search for the issue of arsenic in rice and cereals (particularly the supposedly high level in Cheerios--one of the first finger foods given to babies).

There are alternative ways to gow crops which will reduce and sometimes eliminate the use of herbicides/pesticides.

Glyphosate use has won a renewal of a 5 year lease in 2017, making using it in Europe until 2022.

The post about Europe banning it is incorrect.

I thought it was to be banned by 2022 so after that, no more glyphosate.

Again, that’s minimal.

The benefits far outweigh any noise we hear about.

@SnooppI read the post to mean that glyphosate is now banned in Europe; that was what I was referencing.  There was a huge outcry to get it banned but TPTB caved and renewed the license until 2022.  I interpreted the post to mean that the ban was in effect now and it is not.  Glyphospate is still being used.

Yes, after 2022 it is SUPPOSED to be banned.  We will have to see.

No kidding. If it's not dangerous why are they wearing those suits???

True. And if the man at the beginning of this thread took dictated precautions and suited up, how was he “doused” in it?

I've seen just about every documentary regarding the meat industry-Food Inc, Cowspiracy, Rotten, etc. etc. etc.  Not to mention publications and books beyond regarding our food.

This isn't a one or the other issue; the fact that these chemicals are in ALL food-be it vegan or carnivore diets-is troubling.

Percentages can be skewered to reflect the researchers intent; it isn't a matter of eating Cheerios instead of bacon.  It's a matter of global pollution that extends not just to food but the soil, water, air-you name it.

Even if all meat/dairy were to disappear today, the damage out there is still going to filter into grains/beans/etc.

Let's not keep picking on one issue just to promote another lifestyle.

@Snoopp

The soil here is already deteriorated from all the chemicals used.

I don't know how you would go about cleaning it up so we could grow safe food. IMO that's never going to happen. It's only going to get worse. The food you eat fills you up so you are not hungry but not much nutrition in what we are eating because there are no nutrients in the soil.

It is TOO LATE to stop the damage.....the bees are already dying off....more to come....

@SeaMaiden  Depends upon who is conducting the studies.  Some indicate no increase in colony collapse.

It can make your head spin reading about the bees.

A MUST watch if you have an interest in this topic.  A fantastic interview.

I am posting the link to this interview again because of how important it is.

Yes, it is a time commitment, but it is extremely interesting, enlightening and mind blowing.

We are ALL affected by this.

BUT, anything an animal eats continually compounds to a concentrated

amount, lying dormant for weeks/years until the animal is slaughtered.

And for the majority of the animals, they are fed grain with Glyphosate,

daily...for weeks/months/years without public awareness of what is in

that one, little In-and-Out burger.

If people are upset about the modification of our food,

change their food to the least walked path...plant-based.

It’s not just promoting a lifestyle, it’s promotion of health.

To want change, we have to change.

Plant Based is our future, like it or not.
