When we had cookies they were usually baked but I remember eating graham crackers. Occasionally, Mom would make frosting to put on them.

The first time I made pizzelles as a child, standing at the stove holding a heavy pizzelle iron over a flame and making one pizzelle at a time for hours and hours and hours...

 

It occurred to me that this was the Italian way to keep a child busy and out of trouble.

@Bonkers1 My mom was a baker so we didn't have many other type of sweets around.  She bought them when she made banana pudding which my dad loved, me not so much. I so miss her baking!!

I remember Oreos in my household growing up.  I always dipped them in milk.  Yum.
