I remember Oreos in my household growing up.  I always dipped them in milk.  Yum.

@San Antonio Gal  Oreo's were my favorite growing up, still like them too!

It was tradition in my home growing up that my mother would make Easter stacks.  She stacked vanilla wafers with homemade filling in between them.  Cool Whip wasn't available bsck then.  She would color coconut green for grass on the top and put jelly beans on top.   I still love snacking on vanilla waferd.  Thanks everyone for the walk back memory lane.  I'm 81.

Of course Smiley Happy

I will buy them occasionally.  In fact, I think I'll add them to my grocery list.  DH loves them.

If you like banana pudding, you might want to check out this recipe by Paula Deen.  This is the only way we eat banana pudding now.  Our daughter made one right after the Super Bowl and brought it to us.  It's my husband's favorite dessert.  The cookies in it are Pepperidge Farms' Chessmen Cookies.  You can find the recipe online by searching for the name below.  This last time she made it, she put the cookies on top AND bottom.

Now a days when I want Banana Pudding, I speed dial Magnolia Bakery, and have it shipped to me. My whole family loves it. So it is a winner

We rarely had vanilla wafers.  We always had either homemade chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter, or Oreos.  We did love graham crackers. Hmmm, I have never had a Stella D'oro cookie.  Trader Joe's makes a delicious waffle cone butter cookie.  Delicious!  Someone gifted my dad some Walkers shortbread cookies at Christmas.  He loved them.

I have never heard of the Mothers brand or Salerno cookies.

We had other cookies growing up but we always had Nila vanilla wafers in our kitchen and I still buy them
When our kids and grandchildren started cutting teeth they ate vanilla wafers
My mama and grandma always made banana pudding, strawberry pudding, coconut pudding, chocolate pudding and pineapple puddings with vanilla wafers for our desserts
I love them with peanut butter between two wafers
