@San Antonio Gal  Oreo's were my favorite growing up, still like them too!

It was tradition in my home growing up that my mother would make Easter stacks.  She stacked vanilla wafers with homemade filling in between them.  Cool Whip wasn't available bsck then.  She would color coconut green for grass on the top and put jelly beans on top.   I still love snacking on vanilla waferd.  Thanks everyone for the walk back memory lane.  I'm 81.

Now a days when I want Banana Pudding, I speed dial Magnolia Bakery, and have it shipped to me. My whole family loves it. So it is a winner

We rarely had vanilla wafers.  We always had either homemade chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter, or Oreos.  We did love graham crackers. Hmmm, I have never had a Stella D'oro cookie.  Trader Joe's makes a delicious waffle cone butter cookie.  Delicious!  Someone gifted my dad some Walkers shortbread cookies at Christmas.  He loved them.

I have never heard of the Mothers brand or Salerno cookies.

We had other cookies growing up but we always had Nila vanilla wafers in our kitchen and I still buy them
When our kids and grandchildren started cutting teeth they ate vanilla wafers
My mama and grandma always made banana pudding, strawberry pudding, coconut pudding, chocolate pudding and pineapple puddings with vanilla wafers for our desserts
I love them with peanut butter between two wafers

@Shihtzursqmom   I know my brother cut his teeth on zwibeck toast.  My mom loved it buttered.  Hmmm, I now have to see if they are still made.

No, but I certainly know what those are. My mom was so freaking routine about everything. She bought the same food every week. But she barely cooked, so there was not much food in the house. Breakfast was at home. Lunch was at school or work for my dad. We ate out a LOT of dinners. I shudder to think of all the money spent eating out.
