Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

King Charles III should feel fortunate that he had both parents until he was in his 70's.  It must be an odd feeling that he is at an age that most people are retired yet he is starting a new chapter in his life as Monarch.

Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

In 1976 President and Mrs. Ford were hosting the Queen and Prince Philip for a formal state dinner. They went upstairs to their personal residence before the dinner started and ran into then 24-year old Jack Ford, who was wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

Betty apologized to the Queen for her son's appearance, and the Queen replied, "Don't worry Betty. I've got one of those at home too."

President and Mrs. Nixon visited the Queen and Prince Philip numerous times. The President tried to fix up his daughter Trisha with Prince Charles.

Loved the colorful clothing that she wore along with her pearls and brooches.  The monarchy is certainly changing but hopefully her class and humility and grace will last among the current members for a long time.  Best to all.

Many books have been written about her, but it would have really been interesting if she penned one herself.

She sure lived a remarkable life!

Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

I was thinking if I could change lives with anyone it would be her.  Healthy all her life until a day or two before she died at 96..  Never probably washed a dish or clothes or cleaned a bathroom.  Met every interesting person in the world and traveled everywhere she wanted to go. Married to the man she loved for over 70 years.  Lived in castles her whole life.  Had four children.  They talk about her life of service.....I think I could do it.
