Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

[ Edited ]

I loved the way Queen Elizabeth in her casual moments wore a headscarf (Hermès, I believe, was her preference) until the last of her days.  She often wore them when driving her vehicles or checking her horses.

People, Pink, Purple, Fun, Community, Outerwear, Event, Smile, Tradition, Child,

With years of scarf tying under her belt and a plethora of ...

The look was in fashion when she was young but seemed to have died out with the passing of Jacqueline Onassis, Rita Hayworth and Grace Kelly.  Jackie still wore a headscarf when she was ailing and took walks in Central Park.

Some women still wear this look, but it is not as common as it was in the 1940s and 1950s.  It was the fashionable thing to do then.

The love she had for her dogs and horses.  I'm sure they will grieve for her.

Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

@beach-mom  I love how the Queen inately loved animals. She sure did love her horses. Her corgies and dorgies were adorable with her. IMO, anyone that is a true animal lover is a great person and someone that I would like to be around.

We all know that Diana was a highly fashionable clothes horse. Diana always looked stunning and never took a bad picture. If you really look at pictures of the Queen over her lifetime, she was the original, fashionable clothes horse. She had a knockout figure too. All that combined with her soft blue eyes had to be a sight to behold in her prime.

There will never be another like her. She was Queen before I was born and has always been here. I will miss her dearly. End of an era. Rest in sweet peace. You did your time graciously and now you can rest.Heart

Many of you have voiced very nice sentiments to which I can attest on her behalf.  Most likely the most beloved woman in the world --- for all time.

I'm loving these posts. Thank you, and keep them coming. Her pups will miss her, but I know they will be well taken care of.

Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

That time Queen Elizabeth II went to the Giant Food in West Hyattsville, MD. because they didn't have supermarkets yet in Britain.

Quote:
The royal limousine drew up before the Giant Food Store and, to the complete amazement of hundreds of weekend shoppers, the Queen and her Prince consort got out and walked into the store. Housewives and other shoppers inside the store looked up in astonishment as they found the Queen and Prince Philip peering into their shopping carts. While the Queen strolled about, the Prince separated from the party and soon found himself munching sample crackers and cheese bits someone offered him. “Good for mice,” he smiled at the gaping crowd around him. The young Queen, clad in a mink coat, appeared charmed by the shopping carts with small seats for youngster. “How nice that you can bring your children along,” Her Majesty told one woman who was wheeling a baby.

@Kachina624, you made me cry yet AGAIN tonight. Love the drawing. We all know it was losing Philip that hastened her death. Still, it was such a shock, wasn’t prepared today. I was just watching the new Princess Diana documentary two nights ago and admiring the Queen all over again. Annus horribilis indeed! No one will ever forget that speech.

@Kachina624   The Queen and Paddington Bear film was the best.
