Today as I was giving myself a pedi I got thinking about my quirks and foibles.
I HATE having my feet touched by anyone but me (and always have), hence no professional pedis for this girl.
The thought of putting contact lenses in my eyes makes my stomach churn.
Just thinking about wearing fake nails, gels, acrylics or whatever the latest nail trend is totally has me wanting to head for the hills. Short and unpolished is how I roll.
And probably the number 1 thing that freaks me out is Halloween. Hated it as a kid, like it even less as an adult. Thankfully because of where we live we NEVER have kids come to our house. I buy candy, just in case, but DH knows he has to answer the door if those ghosts, goblins and witches show up!
Yep, thinking about all of my quirks and foibles today made me realize I am one big weirdo - but I'm okay with that - lol!

Well I think being wired is great too...don’t want to be like everyone else.I don’t like anyplace where I have to be close to strangers for a long period of time...eg theaters, planes, elevators, buses or lineups when a person seems to be breathing on my neck.I don’t like people to crowd me but if you give me enough space I am very friendly so not antisocial.

I’m with you regarding Halloween. I have a visceral, negative reaction to all of it.
I’m too ticklish for professional pedis, so I, too, do my own. More important, I really don’t like seeing other people’s exposed feet all summer long. I have nice, clear-polished nails, yes, but you will never see me in sandals, and I wish others would keep their toes to themselves, esp in restaurants. Yecch. Obviously, I am in the minority, because I see people flashing their ugly feet everywhere.
Country music with twangy, nasal singing makes my skin crawl.
Like a lot of people, I think, I get psychic flashes, but two recent, very clear ones have been in GERMAN. Weird....
As a child, I disliked eating in the morning and especially avoided breakfast foods. I would ask for soup, instead. That really annoyed my mother, for some reason. Now, I simply avoid eating, period, until noon or later. Cannot take food first thing in the a.m.
All my life, I have disliked the color turquoise, which makes me feel almost sick when I see it. A few years ago when shopping for furniture with my mother, I mentioned that to her as I quickly moved away from a sickening turquoise sofa, and she looked startled, then told me that when she was pregnant with me, she felt sick and often threw up when she saw turquoise! How on earth did that get passed to me?!

@Its Me LuLuBelle2 Are you my twin, lol??? I have too many quirks to even mention.
I can relate to the eye thing. I can't look in anyone's eye..."if someone say can you see anything in my eye".... I could almost be physically sick. I could never put contacts in my eyes. I dread the day, if I ever have to have cataract surgery.
Being in any crowd, sends me into a panic attack.
I tend to be intimidated by people I shouldn't be.
I don't wear fake nails, but mine are long. I keep mine polished, mostly clear. I can't stand to break a nail, it freaks me out to see short nails. Never in my life polished my toenails.
I do like fall decor, but not the gorey Halloween stuff.
I like things in pairs. I also like matchey-match.
Probably a list a mile long, just can't think of them all.

@libbyannEyou got some great quirks..love the turquoise makes you want to puke story. That is weird how your mom would be ill from that color too.

@libbyannE, we have another thing in common beyond our dislike of Halloween. I too have never been a breakfast fan. I love breakfast foods but eating in the morning doesn't work for me either. Well last year I went for my yearly physical and had gained almost 20 pounds in a year. That post menopausal thing. Anyway the doctor said start eating breakfast, get the engine going, have a light lunch, whatever you want for dinner and no eating after 7:00 p.m. (which was the hardest for me) and the weight will come off. So I thought, I'll give it a try. Most mornings I just put tomato and cheese on a slice of rye bread, throw it under the broiler and voila - I have "breakfast!" Amazing enough I've lost almost all of those extra pounds. So bottom line, breakfast sure does not have to be breakfast foods!

Great tip. I know I need to rev up my metabolism with food in the morning, so I will try your broiled cheese and tomato idea!

@TX-starlight, interesting that you mentioned being intimidated by some people. I rarely go into high end stores for the same reason. I always feel so out of my league. What's so funny is many years ago when my daughter was getting married we got her wedding dress in Manhattan. For her last fitting she brought her Maid of Honor with us. We were walking by Harry Winston's and my daughter and her girlfriend went in like they owned the place. I was in such awe as I just would be too intimidated to do that. Needless to say, I waited outside and window shopped Fifth Avenue. Those two young birds, who didn't have 2 nickels to rub together, tried on jewelry and had a ball!

1 quirk that drives me crazy about myself... I am constantly playing things out in my head. I imagine a conversation with someone, & go back & forth in my head on what I should say. (I hate this, but it's constantly going, lol).
The inside of cabinets & drawers HAVE to be neat & orderly. (Also inside fridge). The rest of my house might be a mess, but not the drawers & cabinets.
I don't like things in my cabinets to touch side-side. They can stack, but not sides touching.

I have a personal space issue! I can't stand people getting very close and in your face when they are speaking to you.
Also, being in large crowds for any reason totally freaks me out. I get a massive anxiety attack.
I don't like either my hair or my feet messed with. I have a difficult time going to a hair salon just getting my hair trimmed. If I get someone who is rough, yanking the comb or brush through my hair, I just want to yell at them.
On the other hand, I am perfectly fine, and happy in a one on one situation.
I also don't like my food messed with. I don't even really want my husband taking food off my plate or sharing a drink with me. I mean, I have done it, but I don't like it.
