I order frequently from Amazon and occasionally from QVC packages that are sent USPS.
Today, I was expecting a package from Amazon via USPS for a friend's birthday.
Last month was her birthday and I had gotten her a gift card and sent it to her via USPS because I was going to be out of town with DH in hospital. I mailed it the day we left.
I asked her after a few days after I got home if she had gotten it. She is the kind of person who would cal or textl and thank you immediately but no call, and many texts but no mention. So, I asked (out of curiosity). She never got it and asked me to not get her anything because she knew I was busy. I was but that was $50 piddled away.
Because we are having lunch together, knowing I could personally hand her the gift, I ordered from Amazon. Tracking said the package was placed in my mailbox. Nothing there.
Have you ever had that happen and if so, what did you do?
My friend is going to think I just don't like her anymore if I have another mailbox story for her. I probably will go out early and buy something locally although I was trying to prevent having to get out with my bad knee.

Please call Amazon customer service and they will help you.
I’m sorry to hear your package is missing.

@butterfly123 Thank you so much. All total that will be more than $100 I am out for the two. I am beginning to suspect my postman might be less than on the up-and-up.

Please mention both items when you call. Hopefully, Amazon will replace or refund your money.

Thank you. I am also going to the post office, I think, as soon as possible and give the "boss" the information I just provided here.

On the rare occasion that I do have to include a gift card in a birthday card, I put the whole thing into a small bubble lined manila envelope and mark it as Photos Do Not Bend.

Unless your mailman is dishonest and an idiot, to steal from customers, he’s delivering to, I doubt he’s the culprit!
Sadly, it’s not uncommon for mail box thefts to occur! Good Luck!

Wait a day I have often found the USPS packages scanned as delivered show up the following day

@I am still oxox I have also had this problem. Pkg was delivered next day by P.O. I question mailman. This was a substitute mailperson. She said she had scanned my pkg but failed to bring out of mail truck.I was not happy with her answer. She did not say she was sorry. No big deal for her. Didn't seem to care. Typical service. What are things coming too?

Several years ago I was waiting for a package to be delivered by USPS from Amazon. The tracking said it was delivered. I had been home all day waiting for it. It never was delivered. I contacted Amazon and told them. I am a prime member and one of the benefits is 2 day shipping and if whomever they shipped it with cannot deliver it and lies, then it reflects upon them and I would rethink renewing my prime account.
The next day I got a call from a postmaster apologizing. A new employee on a different route took the package and realized it wasn't on her route so she documented it was delivered and took it back to the office. I told him they need to improve their interviewing process and liars should not be tolerated. What if it had been a check? Or medications? I have not had a problem since.
Good luck.
