While their financials have indeed looked bleak for jewelry sales for some time, it might well also reflect their choices of jewelry to present... Overall, jewelry is not the big seller it once was, but pretty clearly other shopping entities haven't given up on it and are having at least better, if not great, success... Also worthy of note is that electronics sales too have been meager over many quarters and yet we still see regular and lengthy presentations devoted to them, often to a single item... Go figure...

3rd quarter 2017
“QVC had an excellent quarter, growing constant currency revenue and adjusted OIBDA in every market,” Liberty President and CEO Greg Maffei said in a statement. “We made progress on the acquisition of HSN and expect to close in the fourth quarter.”
QVC saw year-over-year gains in the apparel, beauty, accessories and electronics categories in the third quarter.
But the home category was essentially flat and jewelry declined, according to Liberty.
The average selling price declined 4 percent in the quarter, “primarily driven by product mix within the electronics category, as several successful items sold in the quarter carry lower price points than items sold in the prior year,” Liberty said in its press release.

Interesting. I'll have to watch the forums closely; didn't know their P&L's were a topic. Frankly, I'm baffled how QVC makes any money with their lousy programming and high overhead. Looked at the QVC2 stock and realized they sell all the unsold product (Susan Graver, LOGO, etc.) by crate (!) to the highest bidder. No wonder there are so many of those brands on e-bay! No wonder the viewers have to watch those horrible shows endlessly. I'm finally getting the picture why finding quality vendors with desirable product is such a problem. This has been going on for years and years. I haven't watched in ages. The hayday is long gone. Only program I watch is Louis Del'Olio . . . and I buy his whisper knits!
The jewelry hasn't been worth watching in over a decade (perhaps longer). Stones are poor quality and the use of "mystery metals" have never seemed like a jewelry show. The brick and motar stores and reaping the sales (with their credit terms); QVC doesn't seem to realize their losses. Years ago, I bought 14K and 18K pieces of gold chains, earrings and bracelets. They are lovely, durable and I continue to enjoy them. Sadly, that quality is no longer offered by QVC. Glad I was able to purchase many fabulous pieces when the price was right and the styles were classic!
