The Red Cross is international and supporting their international Cross chapters across the Carribean helping not only PR but the other islands as well.  A familiar option if anyone needs it.

@Noel7

One America Appeal," the hurricane relief effort established by all five living former US Presidents -- Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama -- will now include aid for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, which were hit by Hurricane Maria.

The fund was established to aid relief efforts in Texas after Hurricane Harvey, and was later expanded to include Hurricane Irma recovery efforts in Florida.

Thanks @Laura14

I hope to find one that is specifically for PR, which was also my concern for Florida and Texas.

I think Ricky Martin has set up a youcaring account if you want an actual direct reputable citizen of PR.

I believe Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony have also made hefty donations to their home country.  Just google them and I'm sure whatever charity they used/setup will be mentioned.

@Laura14

I know JL made a huge donation. I don't know if it's open for additional donations but I will look.

The Salvation Army responds internationally.  You could donate to them.

If every adult in the U.S. just gave $5 ... it would be enough for response & repairs.  That is how a lot of ministries ask for money (a little given by many can be a lot).

247,813,910  x  $5   =  $ 1,239,069,550

There was a meeting with state officials, Hartford Latino community leaders, and the office of the Governor of Puerto Rico.

During this call the Representative from Puerto Rico made it very clear that at this point monetary donations are the best way to help immediately. They do not have the infrastructure in place to handle getting donations received, let alone stored and distributed safely. There are many relief agencies you can donate to but he asked to channel donations to this non profit set up specifically for Hurricane Irma which has now been overwhelmed by Hurricane Maria.
